I feel like Pain of Salvation’s Entropia is overshadowed by Remedy Lane and The Perfect Element, but this was the album that fully encoded the things I sought out in music from then on: melodic, deeply felt, usually somber, tonally diverse, conceptual.

Other than dwelling in self loathing, I managed to fix a couple of issues with my turn based combat prototype, including a missing meter, an error causing the game to crash, a draw issue, and also the menu selector problem from last night.

Still not much of a prototype, but it’s coming along.

Is it possible to disable every single AI feature on the new iPhones? My current phone is four years old, and I know that this one will inevitably get nerfed by an update in the future. I do not want any of that trash on any device I ever own, and it feels impossible to get such a thing.

Having experienced a version of this, you have my sympathies. I have mediocre insurance and my wife has slightly better. There is no good, only less bad, and you will pay a fortune for either.

Any channel I hit the “don’t recommend channel” button on eventually comes back, and I say that as someone who has paid for the stupid service for years. YouTube’s algorithm is plagued with issues, and those issues will inevitable drown you in PragerU shit.

The proto that doesn't have this new code...well, that one has a narrative concept and scope attached to it already.

I guess we will see what I ultimately do with all of this, but getting any of it to function is wonderful all on its own.

I still have a lot to do, but I feel pretty great about what I got done in the last two hours. Given that I have two different prototypes for turn based combat currently in play, I am thrilled that I have enough knowledge to work towards makin something out of one of them.

Made a lot of progress. It's functioning. It has a menu. The menu is not working so well yet, but it has a menu. The menu calls the target selection object. The object calls attack script for the object it's pointing at, based on the stats of the character currently attacking.

Went to the most recent thing I'm working on, the turn based combat system, and I feel like I'm mere millimeters away from understanding how to use functions I've never used before, but it's just...that far out of reach...
