I want to create an incubator that funds atproto/bluesky experimental projects to the tune of $5k-$10k dev grants.

I am sorely tempted to call it “Chemtrails”, because it seeds the ATmosphere

Hit me with your best ideas!

Thanks @essentialrandom.bsky.social for joining the conference producers crew as webmistress!

She’ll be wrangling Astro and Quickslice to get the #ATmosphereConf website plugged into the Atmosphere, as well as any PRs you want to help out with.

And of course, joining us in Vancouver!

After a magistrate judge left AG Pam Bondi furious by rejecting a criminal complaint against Lemon on January 18, she tried to get her revenge Friday morning.

But only a few hours later, the DOJ’s case is falling apart as prosecutors in both Minnesota and LA refuse to get involved. trib.al/eCVhESB

Most of the book stores in Austin are open, but with a clear message that they do not expect sales and want to give people a place to hang out.

Some of the cooler ones are setting up space for a book exchange.
I will be here tomorrow (January 30th) because I need to measure a bunch of bookcases and draw floor plans.

If you need to be around books, you are always welcome here.

If you want to help me figure out how to rearrange, cool. Geometry loves company, right?

But.

Anyone in the atmosphere ducking around with openclaw and moltbook? More pointedly, has anyone in @atprotocol.dev built a skill for using PDSes and whatnot?
Would be cool for each molt to have and manage its own PDS…

Lots of great things happening in Conda these days. Sharded metadata means that many operations are much much faster.

Also, the Conda-pypi work makes it much safer and accurate to use pip packages inside Conda environments.

This... is not the role of ODNI. This is so fucked up in all sorts of ways that will have lasting implications.

I recognize it's not going to happen, but this is something that Congress should freak the fuck out about.

So, I’m building this thing to reinvent and reconceptualize what “science education” means….
The Austin STEM Center exists to be the place for kids who learn by doing, who think differently, and who just need someone to say “yeah, let’s build that.”

I’ve never heard of a “law enforcement” agency putting an officer who just killed someone back on the street under 24 hours. And that’s because all shootings are treated as homicides pending investigation. This is as clear a sign as you’ll get that DHS personnel enjoy practical immunity from murder.
CBP chief Bovino has confirmed that the officers who executed Alex Pretti in the street yesterday are not only *not on administrative leave,* they have all been reassigned to other jurisdictions and are all on the street today.

This is totally unheard of for any officer-involved shooting
