I also kind of feel like masking should be more common in food service. Like ... man some of the restaurants I worked in I will never eat in again.
A good quality respirator protects against more than just Covid.

Many diligent maskers haven’t had so much as the sniffles in years.

It’ll help you avoid colds, flus and more.

Who wants to be sick if they can avoid it?

Mask up!

Tove Jansson’s mother, illustrator Signe Hammarsten-Jansson's self portrait, 1910 had a huge influence on her daughter’s career, showing her the often underrated work of women. She also taught Tove how to draw #WomensArt

Self-Portrait (c.1630) by Dutch Golden Age painter Judith Leyster. The artwork is significant for the relaxed and confident appearance of the subject which departs from more formal portrayals of women artists in self portraits #womensart

In 2021, Los Angeles City Council ordered LAPD to produce a report on its treatment of journalists.

LAPD never did it. Blew off City Council for 4+ years now.

Wonder if it'll come up in Tuesday's meeting.

I will never forget that day in 1966. 116 children and 28 adults in one small school and community killed as mining slag heaps collapsed burying them. More people overall. This despite warnings, ignored

The BBC has made an excellent podcast. Tip No 7

So I realize I’ve reposted this all day, but I cannot understate the scale of this story. If Anthropic is spending this much on Google Cloud - or even 25% - the costs of running their business are never coming down. It’s a huge scoop, and the first real discussion of the true costs of AI anywhere.
Exclusive: Anthropic spent $2.66 billion on Amazon Web Services in the first three quarters of 2025, around 100% of their estimated revenue. Its costs appear to increase with their revenue, showing little path to profitability.

But the #VisibleHealth app is set-up differently; it looks for STABILITY in variables such as Resting Heartrate and Heartrate Variability.

This Tuesday morning, despite RESTING (mostly lying down and sleeping) for the past 17 hours, it has clearly identified an imbalance and is advising MORE REST 🙏

It is sometimes hard to grasp the full consequences of what someone said aloud.

We can argue about immigration policy, who can come or not come to the UK all we like. But this is wholly different - people who came to the UK legally, through the laws at the time and settled here, must “go home”. /1
The more I think about her actual words, and how appallingly under-reported/understood they still seem to be, the more shocked & disgusted I am.
Given Lam's appalling comments, the UK government needs to make it free for those with permanent leave to remain to obtain British citizenship, to promote people making the change, and to make it quicker.

They need to do that to remove understandable anxiety.

In any civilised society, you don’t change the law retrospectively, and for good reasons. Seeking to remove people who came to the UK in good faith used to be an extreme position - that of NF propaganda and racist pubs. The era of “send them back”.

So how does a well educated lady born in 1991, /2

🇺🇦🇪🇺 Ukraine is ready to stop fighting along the current front line. The current contact line should be the starting point for negotiations, — Zelensky and European leaders say.

❗️They added that Ukraine's position before the negotiations needs to be strengthened.

Minimum wage workers usually don't get a company healthcare plan so the ACA is their only option for affordable healthcare

If WAGES were higher then ACA subsidies wouldn't be necessary but that's not the case
