Childhood fascination game, very mean, but very beautiful. I rec the JP version or the SCD one since they make the checkpoints more forgiving, but then you're not gonna experience Welcome to the Machine being a five minute long autoscroller that can kill you instantly and put you back at the start.

Honestly, it's kind of a stand-in for the entire series, the opinions from newer folks have gotten pretty dire on them especially with the first two, a lot of people don't like the way they handle.

I remember playing it all the time on my dad's old computer, it really captured the spirit of being a little diecast car driving about a little track in a big world. That attic level is still insanely hard to this day. Amazing music too.

I'm not an expert on the subject, so the closest thing I can think of is one of the Pokemon romhacks that makes every trainer pack smogon strats, with the wild pokemon taking over as the mook waves in-between "bosses".

Shame that the MK Legacy Collection seems like yet another DE disappointment, I was looking forward to potentially being able to play MK4 with the peeps, so I guess fightcade will have to do again.

At least we can legally play Special Forces for a cheaper price. :v
