Love Harrison Ford. Was lucky enough to meet him in Cannes a few years ago. He was charming, witty and - unexpectedly - great fun.
Love him even more now.

GLASHEEN: Antifa is our primary concern right now. That's the most immediate violent threat we're facing

BENNIE THOMPSON: Where is antifa headquartered?

GLASHEEN: ... ... ... we are building out the infrastructure right now

Wow: Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention (named for Holocaust survivor Raphael Lemkin, who coined term "genocide") calls Clinton's remarks "genocide denial."

"Young people in the US are not stupid or gullible. They simply reject genocide – something the Secretary might consider doing as well."

Our media's reporting of trans issues is poisonous, unhinged, a betrayal by those who pretend to report impartially, and shamefully reminiscent of other hate propagandising throughout the last century. I'm surprised to see it in the UK but I need to learn that it is, since Brexit, just who we are.

RIP Martin Parr, documentary photographer and fellow Belka and Strelka obsessive. I love his work. He captured the extraordinary from the ordinary, often in super-saturated colour. I can look at so many of his collections and never be bored.

For way too long this has been ignored, elided and under estimated

This fetid landmark, this historical stain on humanity is primarily due to the stunningly reckless obliteration of America's foreign assistance agency earlier this year.

A statement from Woodcraft Folk re: the ban on trans girls from Girl Guiding.

Trans girls deserve to belong everywhere. But when bigots win the day (not for long I hope), at least there remain places where trans girls and everyone else can belong.

New research reports that cats meow more frequently when greeting male owners. It’s hypothesized that men “require more explicit vocalizations to notice and respond to the needs of their cats.” In other words, the researchers are suggesting that many cats have concluded that men don’t always listen

The WI has been trans inclusive since the 70s, before I was born. Do you see who in this scenario was innocently minding their own business, coming to their own arrangements locally? Do you see who is forcefully imposing themselves and their demands upon others, via threats.

I find Your Party's frequent use of AI very illuminating. Because when they talk about workers, they clearly do not include in that a large number of Arts sector and 'knowledge' workers. I suspect they regard them with contempt. Which is one of the many reasons they are not going to get far.

I am allowed to fail students for AI use, and I do, and I say I will, repeatedly and emphatically. As a result, I wind up having to fail very few students for AI use.
I read the thread and know why they're not failing the students. They gotta let colleges fail the students for the sake of the curriculum and other students
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

time to get rid of the execs

ESPECIALLY IN MEDIA - those fuckers are why we have endless pre-tits on every series and documentary.
There is a direct correlation between how fake your job is and how much value you see in AI
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
