What do premiers Doug Ford (Ontario) and David Eby (BC) have in common? 'Bikelash' - political attacks on walking, rolling and cycling! (I understand Ford's motivations, but Eby's are a mystery.)

Alt text for image (paraphrased): Bill 60 amends Highway Traffic Act to stop municipalities building any bike lane that would involve road reconfigurations. It's based on spurious claims around what causes congestion, undermines municipal autonomy & will worsen the safety of vulnerable road users.

Today the ON gov't passed a bill which amends the Highway Traffic Act to ban municipalities from building any bike lane that would reconfigure roads.

We made a submission to Premier Doug Ford, Min. of Transport Prabmeet Sarkaria & Min. of Municipal Affairs & Housing Rob Flack.

I had a strategy planned for this slow bike race until MP Gord Johns crashed into me. LOL 😂 . No surprise that SoS Adam Van Koeverdan won!
