Had an older coworker sincerely ask about my Veganism today haha

I've actually had a lot of acceptance at work about it since everyone found out - I think kind of in a novelty way though? People are just legitimately surprised when you tell them you've been plant-based for years.

Oh my fucking god these ignorant fucking Fascists

They're in such denial about things having changed in the world

Imagine going back in time and legislating against this woman's childhood "paper doll addiction" or whatever kids used to enjoy back then

Children are sacrificed to Global Capitalism daily.

22,000 children die of hunger related deaths on average

Every. Single. Day.
Where have we heard this blood libel before? 🤔

I gotta pull pumpkin guts out of my pumpkins tomorrow but at least it isn't dead bird guts
Pulling the ‘giblets’ out of the bird corpse before you cook it. Fn gross. Seriously people, learn to see your food choices for what they are -tortured, dead animals who very much wanted to live.

First time baking a pie from scratch, first time making whipped cream from aquafaba! Just that tiny little bit of chickpea juice, your mixer, a dash of vanilla and powdered sugar you too can make your own whipped cream at home. No cows necessary!

All that bloodshed and destruction and carnage to try to coup and overthrow the Hamas government and they're still more or less in control. The Israelis are in US-Afghanistan levels of denial and I wouldn't be surprised if this all ends the same way someday.

Cheese, and dairy in general, comes with a heavier carbon footprint than many other animal-sourced proteins, because it comes from cows.

The single dish with the highest carbon footprint is not the meat — it’s the mac n cheese, at nearly 1.8 kilograms of CO2, thanks to the dairy. Swapping out the dairy mac n cheese for a vegan version — with creaminess coming from cashews instead — can save over 1.6 kilograms of CO2.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the vegan meal comes in with the lowest carbon footprint. In total, a vegan dinner with tofurkey and vegan macaroni and cheese has only 28 percent of the greenhouse gas emissions of the turkey dinner.

Claim #7: "If you were the victim of crime, you’d want to lock them up & throw away the key"

➡️ This is not true. Research shows that crime victims overwhelmingly support non-carceral alternatives over more arrests, longer sentences, and more incarceration.

Claim #3: "We need to crack down on homelessness"

➡️ This is ineffective. Formerly incarcerated people are 10x more likely to be homeless, and thanks to the criminalization of homelessness, they are even more likely to get arrested again – it's a vicious revolving door.

Additionally, the vast majority of people incarcerated for criminal immigration offenses are accused of illegal entry or illegal reentry – in other words, for no more serious offense than crossing the border without permission.
