If you're a book creator and people in your life don't understand why book bans are such a sore point for you then by god show them this film. It really gets people fired up.

I revise things SO MANY TIMES! I save each draft with a different file name, just in case I want to go back and salvage something from an earlier draft (it's happened maybe twice in the past decade or so). I save them Title1, Title1a... Title1m... [massive rewrite] Title 2, Title 2a... #KidLitChat

In October, I witnessed an ICE abduction of a woman in an airport. Afterward, I was not okay for days. I hesitate even saying that, because it's not about me and I don't want to divert attention from the actual victim. But I do want to be loud about this--these assaults are against all of us.

Wow! I usually recognize a lot of the titles on the list of award winners (books I'd recently read), but I haven't read a single one of this year's titles! (I do see some fave KidLit creators listed.) I guess that means I have a lot of fantastic books to add to my TBR! #KidLitChat

I am introducing the Quick Recognition (QR) Act, which requires ICE and CBP officers to wear uniforms featuring QR codes. When scanned, the code would generate a digital ID displaying the officer’s name, badge number, and law enforcement agency.
