Prediction markets being folded into mainstream news outlets lends them a legitimacy they absolutely have not earned, I know we're all in the business of handwringing over the future of journalism but this should absolutely concern everyone www.businessinsider.com/kalshi-cnbc-...

It's not "heated" or "divisive." It's Nazi stuff.

a thought about trump v. slaughter. it is largely unspoken, but the assertion that there is an unlimited presidential removal power and that independent agencies functionally cannot exist is an assertion of presidential sovereignty.

This argument is mired in a bizarre attempt by the right wing Justices to demonstrate how "dangerous" it would be to remake the entire federal government into a group of independent agencies with boards the president can't fire at will - despite the fact that this has never and will never happen, 1/

Yep that is exactly what they're asking. And they will do it not for Trump but to save their own asses because they know if the Democrats get into power their free ride is over

Justice Sotomayor seems dead set on casting the Trump Admin and court conservatives as unhinged radicals out to watch the world burn …and they’re not disagreeing!

Almost 100% of Trump's 2019 farmer bailout went to white men.

"non-Hispanic white operators received 99.4 percent of all MFP payments." Nearly all recipients were male.

So the farmers get to keep supporting Trump as he bails them out yet again with OUR tax dollars. They've had 10 years to figure it out & yet they continue to support him even though HE is the reason they need a bailout.

I felt bad for them the first time around, this time I resent the bailout.

Glad he isn't trying to refuse Boasberg's jurisdiction here. And also: I'm not sure that even if he said, "Fuck the court, land the plane," it matters unless Noem uses it as her defense. The issue is that SHE is the one who violated the court's order, not that others may have also wanted to.
In a sworn declaration, Emil Bove says he hasn't been "authorized" to discuss his "privileged" advice to Kristi Noem regarding the El Salvador-bound immigrant flights from March.

-artillery (lots. No, more. Keep going)
-mechanized infantry (bushmaster go brrr)
-logistics to support the artillery and the mechanized infantry

If Democrats in Congress and the President decide to end the Filibuster and pack the Courts there is NOTHING that Conservative justices can do about it. NOTHING! Except for try to undo it through winning elections.
i'm not sure how any of this gets changed if not with a huge popular uprising

this scotus won't back down, and i don't think that they'll just let democrats rebalance it with even two more dem justices, narrowing the minority, much less pack it

decades of constitutional crisis almost guaranteed

Moreover how have we gotten to this idea that Congress is unaccountable? There are absolutely problems with how Congress is elected but they are *elected* just the same as the President!
