I think that "feeling cozy" should be its own hobby. Like you curate an ever growing collection of robes and nightgowns, rotated by season. An assortment of warm beverages and herbal teas. No less than three pairs of slippers. Pillows across the spectrum of textures, with preferred pairings.
Love this "explainer" completely misrepresenting what happened. No serious person believes Paul's opponents took dives, they looked nothing like fixed fights, and they're baselessly accusing him of multiple serious felonies. The guy learned some crafty boxing that worked under bad matchmaking!
He fought a bunch of retired MMA guys who took dives for cash (and NBA player Nate Robinson for some reason) and 65 year old Mike Tyson who took him to a decision. For some reason this convinced Paul he could fight two time heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua who is 36 and not on AARP like Tyson

People in entirely different friend groups in unrelated conversations have said they expect me to survive an apocalypse movie and another says that I'm obviously the first to get got in a horror movie. They both agree with each other's conclusions. It feels good to be known.

The older family I was watching Paul vs Joshua with aren't even casual boxing fans and left after two rounds confused why the big guy didn't simply execute him, I'm very excited to see them again tomorrow and share the multiple jaw fracture and liquid diet news.

Jake Paul is doing an even less dignified version of Aoki vs Nagashima, and on his way to completing the act.

Say what you will about Jake Paul, this man is masterful at the art of being an obnoxious piece of shit.

So, we all agree that Drake doesn't actually gamble, right? They give him money to post about gambling so content mill writers will embed his social media post with the sportsbook's branding and call it "earned media" right?

Some guy parked at the airport offered to knock $10 off whatever Uber would charge and now I am in a random stranger's car.

The reason tech companies frequently have the worst ideas imaginable is that a significant portion of the workforce needs some new product or initiative shipped to keep their job and the quality or necessity of those is not particularly relevant to management.

We're doing the long walk folks. They'll walk longer than you've ever seen, maybe the best walkers in the world. Some people say that. And if they fall behind pace, well, The Major is going to do something not very nice.
Donald Trump just announced the creation of the “Patriot Games,” an “unprecedented four-day athletic event” with “one young man and one young woman from each state and territory.”

the thing is, any football organization based in Los Angeles is fundamentally evil and deserve every bad thing that happens to them.

Tangent but since it's her specifically using the word, I still remember the moment reading The Death of Expertise where Nichols cites McArdle approvingly and realizing the book was not going anywhere productive with its thesis.

Anthony Joshua is only at -950? This is the fight where analysts and gamblers suddenly start treating Jake Paul as a credible boxer?

I'm sorry but you don't need to be a trained historian to know the beer hall putsch was WAY dumber than Jan 6
January 6 was like a much dumber version of Hitler’s Beer Hall Putsch and yet a plurality of American voters were like, Yeah, let’s give that guy the nuke codes again. An absolutely world historical debacle of societal ignorance. I’ll never understand it.

This is Millie. She just learned how to sled. Hopes you brought a second land frisbee, because she will not be taking turns. 13/10 (TT: millietheredlab)

Ok but MMA refs literally do not know the rules and then go on podcasts explaining they would not enforce them anyways.
every fan in every sport seems to believe the league they watch most closely has uniquely bad referees who are worse than they were at some unspecified point in the past

There's a famous Taco Bell in Pacifica on the beach by a solid surf break, which clicks until you realize it's only brand positioning. The same scenario with an Arby's sounds like a prank to make people drown but is a beef n cheddar really worse than a cheesy gordita crunch? Sharks, today I'm seeki-

Honestly, fine. I'm sure its conclusions swing between tone deaf and outright incorrect and everyone yelling at them for it wouldn't convince the party to change anyways. Might as well skip that whole process.
BREAKING: The Democratic National Committee will NOT release its long-awaited autopsy on Trump's 2024 win. The report is completed but Dem leaders decided it could distract from their winning streak, so it will remain secret. Not good.

New tapes of Reagan were discovered a few years ago calling African UN delegates "monkeys" completely unprompted. I don't buy that there's any voting demographic for Newsom outside of cable news propping him up to their worst addicts with no functional memory.
The presidency once served as a reminder of our common humanity. Ronald Reagan described its purpose as building "a nation composed of good and decent people."

it's so funny watching management of every company try to turn production over to AI but knowing they must hide it from their users for as long as possible because once the word gets out their entire product is cooked.
1/ At bargaining yesterday, @propublica.org management said that they should have 100% discretion to replace workers with AI and would not commit to labeling future AI-generated content.

@ricketyshack.ca just got a bandcamp alert on the new The Browning album out in February and based on the three demo tracks, it's gonna rip. It's a bit like if 2000s era Bodom dropped the classically trained keyboardist for an analog synth dance-goth with a bit of Meshuggah mixed in.
