England voted leave, England got leave.

Wales voted leave, Wales got leave.

N Ireland voted remain, N Ireland got special deal.

Gibraltar voted remain, Gibraltar got special deal.

Scotland voted remain, Scotland got shafted.

real democratic deficiency: Scots voted to remain in the EU

The EU is entirely in control of the membership application process. One day English exceptionalists will fully understand this. Nobody is holding their breaths.
troybairn.bsky.social
Ho ho.

The EU won’t be touching Idiot Island with a bargepole, at least until the 2040s. Probably significantly further away than that.

Neither France nor Germany can offer any ”special deals” for any applicants or prospective applicants.

No, it is only a sub-sample. But decent sample size, and YG are the only pollsters to correctly weigh geographical sub-samples.

There is something utterly sickening about the Labour Government decrying #Brexit but refusing to do whatever is necessary to get us back in Europe.
So here's the thing. Labour gets this Parliament to sort it out or Scotland will be applying to rejoin as a separate entity.
We reject Reform's Nazism!

If and when Trump invades Greenland, London will back Washington. Brussels will back Copenhagen.
England is fundamentally untrustworthy.
troybairn.bsky.social
More reliable than England.
Just think about that for a moment.

The EU is primarily a peace and security organisation. The economic benefits are secondary.
Friends help each other.
The EU knows that fundamentally the English are selfish.

Achieving Liz Truss/Prince Andrew levels of approval is not savvy.
troybairn.bsky.social
Yes, that’s how most normal people think.
Apparently the English are exceptional. (But only in their own minds.)

And yes, tourist visa and planning to work. And then thinking they should believe him when he "offered" not to work then and just have a holiday.

Good on the Australian Border Force.

England abjectly failed to resist Russian disinformation on Brexit.

Serbia is waaaay ahead in the process compared to Idiot Island.

EU membership is an opportunity, only available to reliable partners.
So, England can forget it.

The EU membership offer is an opportunity.

It is the promise of peace, prosperity, solidarity.

Together, we overcame the 2022 energy crisis.

Today, the EU will continue to help keep Serbia safe during the winter.

This is what it means to be a reliable partner.

That long silence is the biggest error in Labour’s modern history. They will pay dearly for it.

More to the point where do you find time to work back in the UK if you are living (but not illegally working) in the EU for 8 months?
The UK by the way is also not one country.

France can keep it. We have our own now.

An illustration in the style of the bayeux tapestry showing people enjoying a British night out. Instead of knights there are hoards of drunk revellers, a woman tumbles out of a taxi, a man wears a traffic cone on his head, kebabs are ordered and drugs are dealt behind police on horseback. There is fighting and vomiting also. The borders are embroidered with details such as a seagull eating some chips and a used condom. There are latin phrases such as 'Im tam ebrus est' and 'Allium Condimentum'

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Re today's show - #Brexit - I can assure you the #LibDems are NOT talking about it - not even internally.

Another subject they're not talking
