I have spent a lot of time thinking about this.
I also have noticed I read a lot less. I watch a lot fewer movies. I don't watch TV at all.
But I DO engage with interactive media a lot more. I play more games. Engage with more interactive fiction.
I don't have an answer. And it IS troubling.

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

We are now further away from the theatrical release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) than it was from the year it takes place in (1936). We have reached the Indiana Jones event horizon.

My family takes card games very seriously. A few years ago, in memory of my father, we introduced 'The Chris' as our poker championship whenever we have critical mass of the family together.
Tomorrow will be the first time it's been up for grabs in two years.

My 11 year old nibling is so excited for the latest Stranger Things. They've been talking about it all day. I ended up quizzing them with Stranger Things trivia and they got 55/60 right.
