It's cold and snowy back in the hills lately. Just north of Sid's Fork, the townspeople say a strange howling wind comes rattling down off the ridge sometimes. Probably nothing right?

Two or three nights ago my household watched The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari - then today I bought one of my critters a copy of Mewgenics and the first kitten bred on his first run happened to be called Cesare! Neat.

I think it's fine when it's real I guess? Like, if the thing I'm doing requires skill and I, the player, can get good at it, then that's awesome, that's what a game is? If the game makes me do the same "press A" task 1000 times to make my _character_ better at it then I don't like it as much.

All the Adobe Animate hubbhub has me considering finally buying Moho despite being a broke artist 💀 $400 ain't cheap but they have a 25% discount right now and the tools it offers seem very in line with what I want for 2D animation. Rrrrrrrgh

Made the mistake of trying to use winget to install zig on my old Thinkpad, which has now been "Extracting archive..." for over an hour and a half. This is apparently expected, but it's more like 15 minutes on a modern workstation. lol.

A character sheet with many different monsters in pixel art. There's a dogu-like magical construct, with its detachable head firing lasers, a giant Squid-like Kraken, a fire skeletal demon. The next row shows a plant-like Alraune entity with a huge rose bud on its head, a Lich with its magic staff wearing an old robe, a skeletal dragon, a chained ghost with two vertical bright eyes and a vampire with a bat's head. The third row has a lagoon monster, a Slime queen with its lower part being a gown, a griffin, a giant spider and a floating possessed doll monster with shiny eyes and crazy snake-like hair. The last row has an antlion with huge pincers, a man-eating giant flower, a mud-like construct with shiny stones, a classical wyvern-like dragon and a decaying zombie giant. A top down, aerial view of a city and its outskirts by a swampy river. The streets are filled with people, and the architecture has a distinctive early twentieth century aesthetic, with rich bent iron structures. A top-down view of a cathedral-like structure, with many columns. At the very center, a giant baldachin, firmly standing on twisted columns. The altarpiece is mounted in a rich baroque frame, surmounted by stained glass rose window. A tall, bat-headed vampire is guarding the altar, with bats flying around. A richly adorned pipe organ can be seen to the eastern gallery. Along the transept in front of the absis, two enclosed naves host a Pietà statue and a reliquiary. Many huge chandeliers hang above the central nave, and lots of candles are scattered around the cathedral. A few zombies and skeletons are marching towards the entrance, where a group of adventurers is preparing for battle, being surrounded. To the side of the absis altar, downward staircases lead to the crypt. A huge skeletal dragon guards a closed gate. An eerie light permeates the various locales, featuring grates, numerous walls of wax, monumental coffins and pillars. A Lich warlock is channeling dark magic by a sarcophagus. The Tower above houses a giant bell. A faraway city can be seen from the terrace, as a Griffin guards the bell beam. A secret room with four chandeliers features many tombs. There, a lady-like demon with bat wings floats above a marble coffin.
