Ah yes, the nose bridge trick works! Looking at the pit of the neck works over a certain distance too.
And for some reason, photos are fine... maybe it’s real-time, in-person situations that bother me?
(People who make horror films are definitely masters at picking up on these😅)

I’m also secretly terrified of eye contact, so I try not to look at the screen when there’s a grid of 10 people staring into their cameras.
When I opened up about this phobia, everyone was kind and offered tips...like using post-its to hide people’s faces, especially seniors’ faces.

I hate attending online meetings where we have to turn our cameras on, because everyone can see me make that weird face right before I sneeze... except I don’t sneeze.
I just end up making a face for a second at an inappropriate moment and pretend to be normal.

I recently discovered that #portfolioday was designed for finding creative work. While I’m not seeking commission right now, who knows what the future holds.
Hard for me to believe I’ve made 4 full 3d character concepts in two months, it’s not much for some, but it’s a lot for me.

As for CGMA, it might look like they’re still offering courses, but the parent company actually fired all the CGMA staff, so there’s nobody running things inside...
I’d recommend waiting for a while, since former staff members are working to build a new platform.

Yesss, honestly they're overwhelming and it does take while to figure out what I need and what I don't...
And yeah sometimes a single page with hand-typed content or manually inserted image file is enough.

That’s a really good analogy! It does feel like a classroom with actual people, and less noise we have to shout over :)
I'm really struggling in other places... I couldn't help venting, but imagining these platforms as actual tangible spaces (classrooms, avenues, etc) helps. Thank you :D

Cara and ArtStation are optimized for art, but I still feel like I have to work hard to truly 'belong' there.

I purchased my own domain so I wouldn't have to rely on views from social media. I guess what they say about social media being a place to socialize, not for art... is true.

Here our hero takes a deeper stab at his enemy, plastic. Well, it’s kind of everyone’s enemy isn’t it? The birds knew all along. 🐦‍⬛

Their feathers are deep glossy black which is almost blue. They’re really quite pretty in a mysterious bird sort of way. I mean, they’re everywhere so ya know - they look much cooler in trees but good luck getting close - they always fly away.
