BRAVE Animated Series (Season 1)

Holds up very well on rewatch. There's a bluntness in its messaging but it really helps let the characters excel in the discussion around systemic cycles of violence.

"There won't be a Morewant better than me" raises the series up so much.

Episode 6 - Peak. Morewant feels like such a lonely character with the burden he's put on himself. He perfectly toes the line of getting to be silly and goofy whilst also handling those dramatic moments really well.

I wonder where Season 2 will take us...

First Brave has risen a ton in my appriciation for him. He embodies everything wrong with Brave society, deliberately fanning the flames of hatred so he can fit better into a warring world.

I think its interesting that his birth as a "hero" and Black's death mirror one another.

Episode 5 - This was the one I wanted to solidify my opinions on!

Whilst I think it might have gone overkill in the brutality, the flashback highlights how much this world's history is mired in cycles of violence and hate which could be avoided.

Peace is only achievable through taking a new path.

Episode 4 - Probably one of the weaker episodes, but I love how self-serving and cowardly Main Brave is. Showcases how the only thing which can change the Braves nature is making sure they are humbled along with genuine connection with those they deem enemies.
