So, so many, but today, I'm going with an absolute master of the cover version,* David Bowie. (Other Bowie covers are worth listening to, but I'd single out his version of 'White Light/White Heat', particularly the BBC version.)

*If we forget Tin Machine's version of 'Working Class Hero'.
