One of my neighbors has been putting up these fish facts posters. All kinds of different fish, marine, freshwater, deep, shallow, all kinds. This is a good one. “Stg this real fish” took me out. Good work, neighbor.

Love this web comic!! Beautifully illustrated and written with a sharp eye for what it’s like to be a teen. It’s set in the early aughts but it’s still relatable to this Gen Xer.

Our entire disability and fledgling UBI systems need to be rebuilt and reimagined under this working assumption.
I would rather have a world where we all trust each other and accept that a few people will take advantage of it than a world where folks have to perform disability constantly in order to get the help they need. Let kids have an extra 30 minutes on the test, jesus fucking christ

Because numbers and spatial relationships are meaningless to me, I've made several online grocery purchases that my family mocks me for. A barrel-sized pickle jar, a comically huge container of minced garlic, and today, a box of crispy rice the size of a semi trailer. I will never live this down.

“In Texas, CDC funds to stem a measles outbreak weren’t available until after the crisis had subsided and two children had died. A project to protect Alabamans from raw sewage and hookworm was abandoned…Time-dependent surveys on HIV and maternal mortality were halted…”
