🌹🗽 Socialist organizer in Astoria, Queens, NYC. Mostly focused on single-payer healthcare / Medicare for All, but also labor, electoral, etc. Opinions my own, reposts not endorsements.
I’m in this! This was a great way to celebrate. My part: spoke in favor of endorsing at DSA forum last October, was an initial lead for December launch + 10 more canvasses in Astoria during primary, then 16 more shifts as a co-lead during general. One story of a tremendous group effort by thousands.

The relentless negativity and performative cruelty of American politics is exhausting.

Following Zohran Mandani’s lead, leftists can distinguish ourselves with a concrete political program paired with genuine enthusiasm for ordinary people.

The MTA just announced record paratransit ridership, representing what accessible infrastructure makes for NYers. I’m proud to partner w/ the MTA to: increase transit access, fund the Capital Plan, & protect programs like congestion pricing that make these improvements possible.

I teamed up with ew4d.org to create a mobile web app that allows workers to compare their contract to others across the nation.

Living with Long COVID often feels like living in a horror movie. Along with your disease comes a creepy Hive Mind refusal to acknowledge the dangers of COVID infection. In Vince Gilligan's new Apple TV show Pluribus, the Hive Mind comes to life:

"Pluribus" captures the isolation of COVID-awareness in a COVID denialist world
For years I've described having Long COVID as living in a horror movie. Now that horror movie (well, prestige Apple TV show) is here.

A bunch of us field leads were coming from our final shifts and waiting to get in and I was like “No spoilers, please!” I didn’t want to hear it from some random person outside among a few, I wanted to hear it inside the victory party with everybody! Grateful I got to experience that.

For me anyway, moving here in September 2022 (lifelong dream) & choosing Astoria, my metric for

“You’re a real New Yorker when…”

… is: you give 100+ hours of your free time to ELECT THE NEXT MAYOR, who is going to materially improve the lives of the multiracial, multigenerational working class!

The early line was so long at the main Astoria election results watch / victory party, around the corner, that there was concern of it becoming electioneering at the poll site on the adjoining street, so us canvassers had to be welcoming to celebrants but also strict about still needing to canvass
