You can condemn murder and political violence without whitewashing Charlie Kirk's shameful history of hate, racism, white nationalism and promotion of dangerous conspiracies that radicalized Trump supporters to violence.

You can do both.

I can't let this go by without pointing out that immigration officers have actually arrested and deported US citizens, even where they have shown ID
This is a paragraph Brett Kavanaugh wrote on his little computer and then sent out into the world:

I've read and coded every War Powers Report ever sent to Congress (check them all out, with interactive graphics and a searchable database 👇), and this one on #Trump's attack on an alleged drug smuggling vessel in the Caribbean stands out. I'll explain below:

“Do not offer thoughts and prayers as you systemically enable such tragedies. Do not claim prayers are sufficient when children die as they pray. Do not pretend you do not understand.”

Again: Faith leaders *themselves* have long also criticized "thoughts and prayers" rhetoric — including leader's Leavitt's own Catholic tradition.

Here are some examples from the past 24 hours, including a statement from Sisters of Mercy of the Americas (Catholic nuns) on the shooting.
I imagine one of the things everyone was praying for during that mass was for a safe school year. It's infuriating that they think thoughts and prayers are sufficient enough to be the only solution they bring to the table.

CONFIRMED: the thoughts and prayers offered by politicians following Columbine, Sandy Hook, Parkland (and far too many others) all failed to prevent today's mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis.

Is it okay to talk about #GunControlNow? Or still too soon?

Psaki: I felt a mixture of anger—a lot of anger—and emotional exhaustion about this today, as I’m sure many of you have, because we have been here so many times.

And yet again, like clockwork, half the politicians in our country have little more to offer than thoughts and prayers.
🤬
So, as I suspected, the police response to the shootings of Democratic elected officials in Minnesota was actually a complete disaster www.startribune.com/new-details-...
