Chonnam University in Gwangju is where the 1980 uprising began. This is a sad story.
One major problem at universities in South Korea has been exploitation and human rights abuses by professors of graduate students working as research and teaching assistants. Many schools and faculty have been working to bring about change, but this case at Chonnam National U led to tragedy.
Chonnam grad-student death investigation finds professors abused their power, treated student like personal servant
An internal investigation by Chonnam National University has confirmed that allegations of power abuse by professors — raised after a graduate student’s death in July — were largely true.

This is what I and most other DC residents think of the shooting yesterday - compassion for the National Guard members shot but anger and disgust with the war maniacs who deployed them here.
National Guard members should never have been deployed in Washington, DC.

Note that the dismissal is "without prejudice". That doesn't mean the case is over, there is a savings provision giving the government a period of time to resubmit it properly even though the statute of limitations has run.

Re Nuzzi - this excerpt nails it.
Agreed, but probably not 👇🏻

This is the sharpest analysis of the Olivia Nuzzi saga.

As institutional journalism has collapsed, individual journalists have basically had two paths for scraping by: a "prestige play" (hounding for prizes) or an "attention play" (social media celebrity).

Both are corrupt in different ways.
