White supremacy is not just discrimination against POC. It is a REQUIREMENT of capitalism.

It creates a caste system, under which each group of living beings is categorized, from white wealthy men, to POC, to poor whites, to domestic and wild animals, to nature.

So sad the good people of TN, GA, AL, etc., don't have a governor w/ this kind of integrity & courage. (Hoping @jbpritzker.bsky.social is running for POTUS in 2028!)

@govandybeshear.bsky.social will be head of the Dem Gov's Assoc in 2026 when many of these red states will have governors races!

Pritzker: "You just heard a tidal wave of lies from the VP. It's a bit shocking. And you heard over & over him just making things up. There's a reason why the judge here in federal court said that they admin lacks credibility and why even the Nobel committee chair said the admin lacks integrity."

Being intelligent and well-informed is an open act of rebellion here in the USA.

Damn! I wish the Greens, NPSL, DSA, etc., in the US would get together and form a single large party with a cohesive plan to REPLACE the Democratic Party.

@sanders.senate.gov is not running again. Maybe he & Kashama Sawant could lead it and help create a singular party.

Why hasn’t the fact the @greenparty.org.uk now has 100,000 members for the first time been all over the BBC, Sky, ITV etc❓

Doah of course they only report good news for Reform, Tories and ignore the rest❗️🤦🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️
Green party reaches 100,000 members for first time after Polanski becomes leader
Green party in England and Wales has had near-50% rise in membership since since Zack Polanski took over last month

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.

Living in deep-red crazy town most of my life, I've realized that there are 2 types of christianity:

Christ-centered and capitalist-centered.

The latter, in almost every case, morphs into christo-facism bc capitalism eventually always becomes facist when the veneer fades & the 99% become angry.

Not gonna link the troll but Bari Weiss clearly represents “thought police” more than 100,000 Bluesky leftists scolding you for writing a defense of Weiss ever will, and ignoring that reality is clearly designed to curry the favor of thought police. You’re not a free thinker, you’re the boot licker.

Zohran Mamdani speaking on National Coming Out Day.
“It is not enough to have Pride just in one month of the year - we have to stand up for New Yorkers every single day.”
“We have to do more than protect.
We have to celebrate.
We have to cherish.”

If you are a non-white registered voter and are reasonably worried about the prospect of voting in-person in 2026 (either early or on Election Day) due to threats from ICE at polling locations, consider looking into vote-by-mail options in your state that will not require your physical presence.

People think if you support the authoritarian you'll be safe.

Wrong.

The Dem establishment is going to back Mills over the absolute phenom outsider Platner in Maine, which tells you everything you need to know about how well they understand the current moment & how prepared they are to meet it.

That makes no sense. Small businesses shouldn't oppose it bc the costs kill them. The only plus is they get tax credits.
thruaglassdarkly.bsky.social
That started LONG before the end of WW2. The rise of private group health insurance began in the early 20th century when employers and labor unions started offering coverage as a workplace benefit bc remember, union jobs were white jobs! The IRS tax benefits solidified the system after WW2.

One thought that few seem to care to utter is that you can't have viewpoint diversity to any great degree if you keep hiring people from the same four schools, all having the same professors. You get the view of one segment of a class hierarchy.

How Viewpoint Diversity Can Help Protect Academics from Themselves (and Perhaps Help Heal Our Civic Culture Too)
