When we write or draw porn or erotica, we get banned from having a bank account and our livelihoods get seized even if we give it away for free.

When billionaires steal what we've written or drawn to churn out a slop-approximate of porn, they're allowed to charge for it.

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year

We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

Ch28 is long, too, but it was this or two chapters and two chapters for this part would definitely have been longer. And also you would have had to wait two more weeks to get Ch29 (vs getting all of it as 28).

I just saw [redacted artist] talking about how they heard people had been talking about [their VN] on Discord with others and jokingly said they should turn over the chat log. God, do I feel that!!! Someone once told me they and their friend have entire Discord voice chats when I update Astra???

I’ve noticed people get kind of tripped up by Solis’ shirt collar, so here’s the secret: it’s actually just a priest collar. That’s why it makes that weird shape. (It’s probably harder to tell when I draw it; I’m not that good at it, haha.)

Making a longform story is a lot of work and that work is multiplied several times over when your medium is comics, accounting for pacing from page to page, week to week, maintaining an update schedule, and doing art that amounts to a lot more than "5 pictures on a page".

This month is the 10th anniversary of when we started posting Lovespells! A lot has happened since then -- seven chapters, 200+ pages (most in full color), and a self-published Volume 1! We're still in another uncertain hiatus, but I'm proud of what we've done. Love you, @othersharks.bsky.social!!
