I used to be able to use Safari to add a web page shortcut to the Home Screen on #iOS and #iPadOS, and those shortcuts still work. But now I can only add a shortcut to the site’s root. Is there any workaround for this? #Apple

In December we released the new Open Community License. MandicReally took it as an invitation, not just an announcement – and turned his Prusa CORE One farm into something unmistakably his, with smart custom touches built around his printing needs. Definitely worth a watch: youtu.be/GiGD0y0b8Oc

I saw we're doing 2016 throwbacks. On this day 10 years ago, I was making the first prints on a Mendel 90 we built for the "How to build a RepRap 3D printer" class I taught at the Dallas Makerspace. I would have never guessed I'd be making a living working on 3D printers founded by RepRap today.

Hey #electronics nerds! What’s your preferred solder for different applications? What kind of flux do you use? I don’t need to do much soldering so I want it to be quick
And easy when I do. I’m annoyed with crinkly gray solder that doesn’t flow and adhere, especially when splicing wires.

It has never been the consent of the governed to be shot in the face by government agents for the flimsiest of excuses.

Is this what The People now demand at this stage in our historic social experiment?

Some Terminal apps (iTerm2, Ghostty) can display images inline. Perfect for when you're working on an LLM AI assistant in a chat-first Terminal situation with a command to invoke image diffusion.

Pro tip: Use "import readline" in #Python for an instantly better input() function.

I took a day off for nostalgia to add colorized listings to the #Atari BASIC thing. I'm using the AtariBASIC source code (annotated with pseudo-code) to inform the tokenizer. The most important component I need to implement is the little VM that applies the B.N.F. to each statement. #CodingLanguage

The most natural way to experiment with #LLMs is to wrap up Frotz in a #Python Tkinter UI and feed the LLM the output of #Zork.

Using several system prompts for the role of summarizer, sidekick, assistant, and player.

It's important to keep context small but rich, so this Summarizer is doing well.

I printed this piece for my Prusa i3 Jalopy Rebuild. The Adjustable X-Idler has always been a bit of a joke in old brittle PLA, quickly disintegrating every time. But with modern PETG a little bit of material goes a long way, so this turns out to be a pretty sturdy part!

The kids are all right.

And they aren’t falling for right-wing shutdown talking points either. Trump and Republicans should be worried about these future voters.

I just hope the so-called “grown-ups” do even a fraction of the research this young woman did. Google it.

If you look back at the past statements and behavior of your contrarian and edge-lord pals who in recent years became dupes and tools of the Authoritarian Right you will realize they were always dupes and tools. They were just waiting for the right moment to unleash their repressed id. #MAGA
