Figured I should make one, now that pinned posts are a thing here:

Hey, I'm James! I cover games, mostly in the RPG sphere of influence. You've probably read some of my work at RPG Site, but I've also contributed to GamesRadar, UploadVR and more in the past. I've covered events like E3, TGS + more!

Much like Pokemon Legends: Arceus before it, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is a bold and unorthodox take on the series' formula, and yet more proof that Pokemon is better when it pushes the boundaries of what a Pokemon game can be. Our review: https://www.rpgsite.net/review/18695-pokemon-legends-z-a-review

That's fair, but seeing someone say stuff like Bioshock 2 and Echoes of Wisdom are the worst games they've finished is making me disassociate

Losing it at folks in the quotes calling ostensibly good, or at worst fine, games the worst they've ever finished. Please play actual dogshit to recalibrate your tastes.

What's the worst game you finished/rolled credits on?

(games media folks, it can't be something you were assigned to review; this has to be something you subjected yourself to of your own free will)

How many players on Xbox are interested in indie titles enough to actually buy then rather than wait for them to hit game pass? Like, I can't imagine it's at all worth a port without game pass subsidizing it, and even then...

Hey look, Israel broke the cease-fire, twice, in two different ways, within 24 hours - again.

NEW: Israel informed the UN it will permit only 300 aid trucks into Gaza daily, not the 600 mandated by the ceasefire it just signed.

Multiple times I hesitated starting a battle to let the theme play. I NEVER DO THIS.

Some of these trainer battle themes y'all are NOT ready for.

Desperately need the Legends Z-A soundtrack to be put up for purchase already.

Reminder for those attending 50501 SoCal’s No Kings protest this Saturday. The organizers have a history of coordinating with LAPD pigs ahead of their parades. Here’s communication between the 50501 SoCal founders and LAPD regarding last April’s protest.

Sometimes the most impressive skill when designing a game is to know what the limitations of your scope should be. Z-A is by no means flawless but I applaud the clarity of purpose the game showcases.
theswweet.blackskycomra.de
I actively think Z-A would have been lesser if they had included any focus for areas outside of Lumiose. The whole point was to showcase a singular place in the Pokemon world, and as such help ground us Ina way so we can extrapolate the scope of the rest of the world!
theswweet.blackskycomra.de
It's interesting seeing how "Legends Z-A only takes place in Lumiose" is either a positive or a negative depending on who you ask. Personally speaking the game feels like a massive love letter to urban living and the community that cities foster. I don't think it would be the same otherwise.

This is the first time that Nintendo/TPCi let us review a Pokémon game ahead of launch. Maybe that's a weird thing to have any pride in at all, but as an indie site staying in our lane yet always striving for more, every opportunity we achieve feels good and I'll never take it for granted.

What do you need, servers should be live so I can make a Link Trade room.

There's one specific trainer battle theme where I actually had to put my controller down and sit for a loop before I let the fight start. Genuinely insane bop.
theswweet.blackskycomra.de
I know I've been writing long enough that I shouldn't be surprised it finally happened, but I'm still shocked I got to review a Pokemon game and was even trusted with pre-launch code.
theswweet.blackskycomra.de
Yeah it's the most explicit story focus the mainline series has ever had.
