I had to be physically removed from the theater, at 3 years old I could NOT handle E.T. dying and apparently I couldn't stop screaming. So they tell me, I don't actually remember.

It was either Leibowitz, Stand On Zanzibar or Hyperion, so I picked the only one that wasn't a doorstop 😆
Good morning Womble! Finished all 949 pages of The Summer Queen in record time (for me, at least), but before I move on to finish the seeies with Tangled Up In Blue, I wanted to take a quick break. So now it's on to A Canticle for Leibowitz.
This is my technique as well. I have a very general outline of where I want the story to go, but leave a lot of room for the characters to make their own decisions and drive the plot the way they want to. We usually end up at about the same place by the end.
Is this a bad time to pitch my Tron sequel script about the exploits of the real-world counterpart to Peter Jurasik's ill-fated program character?

I'm not one of those anti-Kennedy types, but if they didn't have time to come up with something original, there was a framework *right there*

This right here. I love my art friends and art community, but I'm also trying to run a business as a freelancer/selling products and I need the reach! Every time we scatter to different platforms it's a little harder to exist as a working artist whose primary visibility is only online.
As much as folks might not want to believe it, artists who sell their work cannot survive exclusively on platforms that cater to primarily other artists. The Circulating The Same Five Dollars™️ model can't feed us or pay bills for long. We need places where we can be seen and discovered.

I once again beg all y'all not to screencrap nonsense from the former Twitter and bring it here to dunk on it, that's like inviting a vampire in to tell them their fangs look stupid, maybe you're right but they're still going to fucking eat you

(also "screencrap" was a legit typo but I left it in)

War as a moral metaphor is limited, limiting, and dangerous. By reducing the choices of action to “a war against” whatever-it-is, you divide the world into Me or Us (good) and Them or It (bad) and reduce the ethical complexity and moral richness of our life to Yes/No, On/Off.
