It just occurred to me after all these years that when they changed the date for changing the clocks, they made Halloween darker, and that might explain why I get a rush of really little kids at like 5:30. It didn’t used to start so early here.

Winnipeg: hottest major city in the world for a bit today.

There are several things in that sentence you don’t hear very often.

Don’t worry. There’s a possibility of snow by the weekend. 🥺

Scorching 36.4C makes Winnipeg the world’s hottest city — for now
At 4 p.m. Tuesday, Winnipeg claimed a sweltering and surprising title: the hottest major city in the world. With the temperature reaching 36.4°C at the airport, Winnipeg was hotter than major global h...

The music is great. The acting is great. It’s a genre-bending funfest and the teen and I loved it.
‘SINNERS’ overperformed official estimates and actually opened to $48M domestically.

Biggest opening for an original film this decade.

I’m well outside my area of expertise here, but I do know that Winnipeg has a huge problem with heavy rains overwhelming our sewer system, that we have a tonne of buried streams, and that I love gardens. Enter, the bioswale? www.cbc.ca/news/science...

O Canada! This is OUR home & native land. Today all of us are patriots.
Today we took action to respond to tariffs by deferring taxes so businesses can hang on to cash & keep people working.
We will always protect your jobs & we will always be the true north, strong & free. #cdnpoli

With the trade agreement “in tatters”, are we charging MFN on everything from the US, plus some targeted tariffs, or are we still doing UST? Or, maybe they’re not even “most favoured” at this point and we throw them in the pile with Russia, Belarus, and North Korea? www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

At the pet food store today, the wonderfully helpful person working there told me that there are no wet cat food canneries in Canada. The last one closed during the pandemic. So wet cat food, even Canadian brands, is from the US. Great opportunity for someone looking to start a business in Canada.

There are so many more interesting places to see in the world. The fact that we were all going there so often was, frankly, lazy. I look forward to seeing and doing more interesting things.

Dance really is a community. ❤️

Three years ago, I had the honour of collaborating with Ukrainian dancers from Edmonton via a virtual meeting. They taught me some Ukrainian dance moves, and I taught them some Bhangra moves. I'm sharing the video today in solidarity because standing with the oppressed is standing for lasting peace.

Side kudos for giving the WHC money to renovate. It was desperately needed even before the recent frozen pipes incident. 🙏

I don’t understand why Just Egg isn’t seizing their moment here (also try tofu scramble, which is delicious and cheap).

I’m baffled that the price of eggs is a factor in this much chaos in the US. The birds are dying by the thousands. Eat something else, don’t vote to wreck your country over it.

If we’re supposed to be able to stop the trickle of drugs and people out of our country, obviously they can stop the flood of guns and drugs out of theirs, right? Right? Since we’re so focused on exports and not import enforcement?

What if restaurants made a point of creating great plant based options and then provided “add on” options of meat? People would eat less meat/decide the dish is good as designed and doesn’t need the add on. Sounds delightful (good for health, enviro, cost, and FLAVOUR). www.cbc.ca/news/science...
