The northern stretch of I-70 is a dead zone, glassed and glowing since the rad-bombing of Colorado Springs during the Martian Invasion. Now, I-15 and I-95 are the lifelines connecting what’s left of East and West America, and where they cross lies the hunting ground of the Scarlet Scorpions of Lost Vegas. These desert raiders run their territory like a war machine. Every team has a task, every vehicle a purpose, every driver a role; brutal efficiency in an unforgiving wasteland. The Getters are the Scorpions’ fangs; fast-moving intercept squads that launch the moment scouts call in prey. Scramjet drag racers scream across the salt flats, rockets on wheels piloted by thrill junkies, while Scrambler buggies weave in close, spitting lead and fire to drive quarry into the kill zone. Among these crews run strange superstitions: paint your car red to make it faster, stripe it in checkers to guarantee the finish, and smear yourself green, because “green means go,” and stopping means death. The Guarders are the Scorpions’ pincers, providing the muscle to hold what the Getters catch. Strikers are fast, heavily armed performance cars with reinforced rams, twin-mounted machine guns, and 360° rear fighting platforms for tethered gunners spraying SMG fire in every direction. Their backbone is the Sentinel, a rolling fortress of a heavy truck bristling with a giant 125mm cannon and security crews packing grenades and automatic weapons. The Grabbers are the Scorpions’ stinger, the finishers. Stingers are sleek roadsters armed with harpoons to reel in fleeing targets, while grenade launchers corral the wrecks into kill zones. Once the target’s pinned, shotgun-wielding scavvers close in to secure the prize. Overseeing the carnage is The Shipyard — a steel bus fitted with a monstrous grabber arm capable of seizing entire vehicles. Its crew can cage survivors, loot cargo, and strip a wreck bare before the dust even settles.

I place and sometimes animate pixels. I really like top-down environments, tilesets and limited palettes.
A top-down view of a cathedral-like structure, with many columns. At the very center, a giant baldachin, firmly standing on twisted columns. The altarpiece is mounted in a rich baroque frame, surmounted by stained glass rose window. A tall, bat-headed vampire is guarding the altar, with bats flying around. A richly adorned pipe organ can be seen to the eastern gallery. Along the transept in front of the absis, two enclosed naves host a Pietà statue and a reliquiary. Many huge chandeliers hang above the central nave, and lots of candles are scattered around the cathedral. A few zombies and skeletons are marching towards the entrance, where a group of adventurers is preparing for battle, being surrounded. To the side of the absis altar, downward staircases lead to the crypt. A huge skeletal dragon guards a closed gate. Many huge chandeliers hang above the central nave, and lots of candles are scattered around the cathedral. Below the Cahedral, an underground Ossuary crypt, with walls made out of bones and skulls. An eerie light permeates the various locales, featuring grates, numerous walls of wax, monumental coffins and pillars. A Lich warlock is channeling dark magic by a sarcophagus. The Tower above houses a giant bell. A faraway city can be seen from the terrace, as a Griffin guards the bell beam. A secret room with four chandeliers features many tombs. There, a lady-like demon with bat wings floats above a marble coffin. A topdown pixel art remake of Ruin Valley, from Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. Many ancient structures can be seen emerging from the steep cliffsides and lush tropical vegetation: temples, tall palaces and mysterious pathways and towers. A moltitude of pokemon and trainers can be seen around. To the east, the ocean with tall waves and a jagged coastline. Water and fossil pokemon live there. At the center of the valley, the legendary pokemon trainer Red is entering the Dotted Hole ruins. Peculiar rock formation resembling regi pokemon are scattered throughout the environment. A top down, aerial view of a city and its outskirts by a swampy river. The streets are filled with people, and the architecture has a distinctive early twentieth century aesthetic, with rich bent iron structures. A collection of tiny pixel art pokemon scenes, featuring: 1. Chinchou swimming under the waves 2. Lanturn jumping above the waves at night 3. Corsola on the seafloor 4. Horsea in a cave underwater 5. Seadra in a kelp forest 6. Kingdra among whirlpools 7. Swinub at home, sleeping on a carpet 8. Piloswin taking a bath in hot springs 9. Mamoswine traversing a snowstorm 10.
