Hi hi #PortfolioDay! 🎨✨

I'm Requinoesis, someone who loves the ocean! I'm dedicated to creating a new insight into the imagery of sharks under pastel colors! 🌊🦈✨

You can see more of my art stuff here, if you want: linktr.ee/requinoesis
Roberto, the great hammerhead shark, explores the ruins of an ancient museum destroyed by Typhon's storm. He holds a flashlight and carries a mysterious human spirit in his backpack, who accompanies him in silence.

The place, shrouded by the phenomenon called “cursed salt mist”, is covered in a permanent fog. Salt crystals sprout everywhere and a supernatural presence seem to lurk among the rubble.

The spirit that accompanies Roberto is liquid and translucent. Sometimes little tropical fish of extinct species float around him, as if attracted by his presence.

The museum's architecture is full of organic curves and ornate tiles. Decorated columns show a crab with a human face holding the moon between its pincers, an ancient symbol of a historical figure revered by the sharkfolk. A cozy little shark bistro nestled among lots of plants. A little harbor village of Gourdlets among a cozy grove of trees, carrying out various cooperative activities related to fishing and recreation, there are little colorful fish and a shark swimming peacefully in the sea. An allegory of the "Jaws" movie poster that caused damage and negative stereotypes to the image of sharks that persist to this day (I'm glad it's slowly changing, but it's still too slow to be considered forgivable). Now with a reversal of roles, with the human victim replaced by a simple wild shark and the terrible stereotyped shark replaced by a monstrous human skull seeming to want to devour the shark (this is the reality, we kill thousands of sharks every year, many of them killed for irrational reasons, who is the real cruel killer?)

Happy #PortfolioDay!
I place and sometimes animate pixels. I really like top-down environments, tilesets and limited palettes.
A top-down view of a cathedral-like structure, with many columns. At the very center, a giant baldachin, firmly standing on twisted columns. The altarpiece is mounted in a rich baroque frame, surmounted by stained glass rose window. A tall, bat-headed vampire is guarding the altar, with bats flying around. A richly adorned pipe organ can be seen to the eastern gallery. Along the transept in front of the absis, two enclosed naves host a Pietà statue and a reliquiary.
Many huge chandeliers hang above the central nave, and lots of candles are scattered around the cathedral. A few zombies and skeletons are marching towards the entrance, where a group of adventurers is preparing for battle, being surrounded.

To the side of the absis altar, downward staircases lead to the crypt. A huge skeletal dragon guards a closed gate. Many huge chandeliers hang above the central nave, and lots of candles are scattered around the cathedral.

Below the Cahedral, an underground Ossuary crypt, with walls made out of bones and skulls. An eerie light permeates the various locales, featuring grates, numerous walls of wax, monumental coffins and pillars. A Lich warlock is channeling dark magic by a sarcophagus.

The Tower above houses a giant bell. A faraway city can be seen from the terrace, as a Griffin guards the bell beam.

A secret room with four chandeliers features many tombs. There, a lady-like demon with bat wings floats above a marble coffin. A topdown pixel art remake of Ruin Valley, from Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. Many ancient structures can be seen emerging from the steep cliffsides and lush tropical vegetation: temples, tall palaces and mysterious pathways and towers. A moltitude of pokemon and trainers can be seen around. To the east, the ocean with tall waves and a jagged coastline. Water and fossil pokemon live there. At the center of the valley, the legendary pokemon trainer Red is entering the Dotted Hole ruins. Peculiar rock formation resembling regi pokemon are scattered throughout the environment. A top down, aerial view of a city and its outskirts by a swampy river. The streets are filled with people, and the architecture has a distinctive early twentieth century aesthetic, with rich bent iron structures. A collection of tiny pixel art pokemon scenes, featuring:
1. Chinchou swimming under the waves
2. Lanturn jumping above the waves at night
3. Corsola on the seafloor
4. Horsea in a cave underwater
5. Seadra in a kelp forest
6. Kingdra among whirlpools
7. Swinub at home, sleeping on a carpet
8. Piloswin taking a bath in hot springs
9. Mamoswine traversing a snowstorm
10. Cleffa hovering in space
11. Three Clefairy dancing at Mt. Moon Crater
12. Clefable in the middle of a pond, looking at the stars
13. Porygon in a strange labyrinth
14. Porygon2 running on a mobius strip
15. Porygon-Z floating in an old screensaver
16. Bonsly sitting on the porch as the rain starts to fall
17. Sudowood taking shelter from heavy rain in a mountain cave
18. Mew looking at the viewer through fish-eye lens
19. Sunkern floating in a summer meadow
20. Sunflora basking in the sunlight over a sunflower field
21. Celebi flying through Ilex Forest

Thank you so much Luna! I've recently been away from social media - and it really warms my heart to find this positivity as soon as I come back. And you're definitely right, we need a lot of positivity and gratitude. I am also incredibly flattered to be part of such a wonderful list of people!

I guess it could be one of those cases, considering Oda's work is somewhat of an anarchic product, with a quite obvious progressive part. Even through lots of shortcomings and naivety (women representation, lgbtqia+ comunity an more) I feel like OP showcases a great and surprising heart!

I am no scholar and I am not familiar with that author's history, but I guess that some ties and industry acquaintances will be inevitable (Oda used to be an assistant for this author I read). I used to work in the movie industry and saw plenty of my "idols" falling from grace during these years.

In case you would like to try anyways, you are absolutely welcome! It's not a matter of quality or complexity, but the spirit of partecipation that counts! :'>

And no, I do not use AI in any of my work, nor its development phases!

#pixelflotilla
As Italy goes on strike, we all stand with Sumud, with humanity, against the g3nocide and corrupt politicians. Together we sail. I know for sure that some heroes definitely like One Piece.

If you want to join the flotilla as a collab, more details in the first comment.
A top down pixel art of the Going Merry Ship from One Piece, sailing calmly through the waves. The Strawhat jolly roger waves gently at the very top of the mainmast. A Palestine flag waves atop the rear mast, where a red, white and green sail is also found right below. Many green, red, white and black triangular flags are tied to the ropes all around.
The crew can be spotted all around: Sanji is looking at a watermelon crate, possibly thinking of new recipes. Tony Tony Chopper is strolling happily down the staircase in the deck. Zoro is taking a nap at the bottom of the main mast. Nico Robin is relaxed, leaning on the main central deck railing and watching the waves, with a book by her side. Nami is looking towards the horizon from the bow deck where Usopp can be found as well, busy with ship's reparations. Luffy is sitting atop the sheep figurehead, with his arms stretched, hugging the giant watermelon he is enthusiastically eating.

+ I wish you all the luck on your life changes! I've been through a whole lot these past three years, and a lot more even before then. Had lots of joy from change, even with all the struggle. It's just the stillness of now that kind of discourages me...
zaebucca.itch.io
It's honestly the least concerning thing. It gained psychological relevance due to the whole context and stuff happening around; I would have never been struck by such a predictable thing if I were not "debilitated" myself. Ultimately, it's inconsequential, but it saddened me. +
zaebucca.itch.io
Trying my best, and for sure I will not gatekeep that kind of answer if I ever get it!
Trying not to think of stuff, or not to speak of stuff has been my top strategy for years, but the weight of it seemingly collapsed on itself, lately. So yeah I'm trying to put it out of the system as far as I can
zaebucca.itch.io
resonating and expanding. They have been for years. Europe is a pantomime, again. US is clearly an immensely corrupt, violent and disfunctional system towards its people, but Europe is the very same, just less "explosive" end "blatant" I think.
zaebucca.itch.io
It's true that horrible people all around US had an impact on the whole world, which is spinning into chaos and hate at a unprecedented pace. But I think it's not remotely a sole responsibility or effect of US. We had the very same seeds in Europe. Hate and violence and racism and bigotry are just -

Thank you Drak. I've been using art and pixel art specifically for more than ten years as a safe haven, but I've recently began struggling with it - probably because of external factors, of course. I am very hopeful about new generations, it's just the "now" aspect of my life that is dreary
zaebucca.itch.io
- but I am also somehow resistant to the optimism and positive thinking. I just think my creative well is a bit dry so, again, huge changes needed. Both for myself and from the world around (which is not a responsibility or possibility of mine to change in a significant way)
zaebucca.itch.io
Thank you Phil, it's true. The main issue there is that, either by consequence or just overall life happening, I am also extremely detached from my art and my projects. It feels pointless and I am drained. I have recently started teaching pixels at a comics school and it's full of hope and stuff, -
zaebucca.itch.io
- getting out of touch with feelings, my own art (I am really stranded and the overall social collapse was not that easy on me as I thought) and people at this point. It has been far too much, far too long.

I just feel like I need to SEE some change around before I can breathe again
zaebucca.itch.io
Yeah but it's been excessively tiring. Years of overworking, a career in movies thrown away - and rightfully so, my ethic standpoint is not sellable to corporations. My happiness facade has been crumbling for a while, now.
I do whatever I can for people and people do whatever they can, but I'm -

I am really sorry to hear that. Musicians suffer too much already.
I canceled my Sp. subscription months ago due to the boss being a weapon crazed genoc1d3 enforcer, AI and the terrible politics regarding wages and payments to musicians on platform, so I'm just buying directly whenever possible now
zaebucca.itch.io
How are you doing, fellas? How does one stay sane, again? Do you know? Did you use to know? Let me hear because I am having a proper, full-fledged menty B this time of my life arund.

On a personal note, my patreon and itch assets have been leaked for months (ty whoever did that! That was REALLY encouraging to discover as a minimum wage guy, but I guess a lot of people think I am Mr. Pixel Disney or whatever). Itch is basically being destroyed by payments providers.
