Oh, another one of those "crunch before xmas for an internal presentation". From my experience, that means the game is on the chopping block in Jan. And you know what? Outcome of crunch might indeed decide its fate. Or unexpected sales (one way or another) of other titles. Or luck.

I can 100% confirm that when I draft visual ideas on paper, there's A LOT of concept and absolutely ZERO art in there.

I think he's being very clear on what they do and why, and it makes complete fucking sense. How about everyone sends AI insults in the right direction instead of everywhere.

This is such happy news. I'm pretty sure it will be an amazing game that I will have no desire to play myself, but I will root for it and will find it fascinating and impressive. That's just what Tim and Obsidian do, and I love them for it.

I know about scale, distance, perspective, etc and my brain is still incapable of processing this as anything other than some slow motion footage.

2020 was nuts for many reasons but I remember being shut away at home, banging out 60,000 lines of code in 10 months, then having my mind blown editing this trailer and hearing that iconic Switch click at the start.

I still consider it a huge privilege getting to write a game on Mario's home.
