Welp tried to sit down and do a little writing this evening and turns out I'm not as over this as I thought.
Going through the slight mental dusting myself off atm of having shown a piece of fiction I wrote to several friends and other writers and then largely gotten responses that ranged from mildly positive to 'meh' to 'I dunno dude this kinda sucks you should try something else.'

Sorry to be still banging on about this but shout out to everyone out there who keeps bringing up the Horses game being banned from steam as an injustice and conveniently refusing to address or even mention this fact.
Still seeing outcry about the Horses game being banned from steam so here's a reminder that they were told they were banned 2 years ago by steam for trying to put something child porn adjacent in an early build of their game.

One of the random niche things I miss from when my grandad was alive is that he was a huge fan of boxing and knew a lot about its history, so now that he's gone I basically don't have anyone to talk to about it ☹️

There's a strange arrogance to a lot of modern political parties where they think because they're been around for a long time they can do whatever they want to piss off their base forever and this somehow won't result in another political group rolling up on their lawn and taking their voters.

One of the weird parts of capitalism is knowing that a lot of places that I loved as a kid (e.g. my local McDonalds playrooms) were just disposable money makers I only remember fondly out of nostalgia AND I also get to feel sad because most of them have been repurposed or demolished.

As someone who has seen a 40-60% drop in earnings due to AI history slop invading youtube + youtube putting an AI in charge of what videos get restricted my hope atm is that we're just in for a bad couple of years a lot of creators are going to have to knuckle through before this stuff crashes.
