I don't think cis people, even "queer" cis people, really get how common it is for trans men and other AFAB trans people to degender themselves to female whenever it suits their social, political, or sexual interests.

No more pretensions about the existence of an egalitarian trans community. From now on we're being realistic and saying that there are employees (trans women who do the work of advocacy and culture building) and employers (TMEs who coasts on the value created by trans women).

Thinking still about that study that shows that the majority of trans girls are kept from transitioning until after puberty. The people who want and need it most are locked out of transitioning while the easiest transition socially & medically is handed to the cohort who detransition at high rates.

My thinking is that while trans women can inflict pain on our equals (ie using transmisogyny on our sisters), saying we can be transphobic implies that we're punching down at TMEs and we're in a position of privilege over them. We can't oppress our oppressors.

If "female socialization" was real, we wouldn't have a seemingly endless supply of young trans boys who parrot MRA talking points as much or more than all the cis boy incels.

The only meaningful difference is that the trans boys tend to be better at camouflaging their misogyny with feminist terms.
