I know sports rights change all the time but it would be so weird if NBC didn’t broadcast the Olympics. They do such a good job with them and fully utilize Peacock to air everything. But with the IOC, you never know.

Obed has a massive ceiling, and Atletico Madrid have deep wallets these days.
They just spent $40M on Johnny Cardoso last offseason. .

Edson Álvarez is sidelined with an injury 5 months out of the World Cup. There’s a chance for Vargas. It may be slim, it’s up to him now.🇲🇽🇺🇸
🚨🇲🇽 BREAKING: Atletico Madrid in talks to sign Mexico int’l midfielder Obed Vargas (20) from Seattle Sounders, per sources.

If the Sounders get even as much as $3M+20% sell-on it has to be considered a huge win. If they also get him back on loan … it’s a genuine master-stroke.

Whether it be through specialized training or at parks back home with friends, there was extra offseason work.

Will it secure call-ups? Can it help lift the USMNT this summer?

This line ought to set off a huge alarm at MLS HQ:

"The Loons were negotiating transfer deals with Slovenian midfielder Tomi Horvat and Dutch defender Cherrion Valerius, but both players cited concerns about life in Minnesota for them and their families as why they declined contracts with MNUFC."
“People are scared; we are, too.”

They put a fake tournament in the middle of the season just to market MLS to Mexican fans and then immediately gutted their Spanish coverage
The cuts to the league’s Spanish-language on-air talent total some 25%, according to a league spokesperson, with about half of all matches in the regular season now handled by a single commentator.
New from me on @us.theguardian.com: sources tell me a host of changes are coming to MLS Season Pass - cuts in Spanish language talent & programming, and about half of the English-language matches will be produced overseas.
