too soon had come the morn, and away did sawako see wyra out to the docks. wherever it was the miqo’te dreamed to find upon the horizon, the xaela couldn’t know, nor dare would she ask. time was much better spent taking in the salt-fresh vylbrand air intermingling with the telltale scents each left behind upon their skin, hair and interwoven within their fabrics. reminders of their night prior that would soon fade like the sun by the evening’s curse.

sawako leaves little more of the moment to chance, her hands fetching through her kit as wyra stares blissfully to the far and unknowable curve of the ocean beyond. her view of the captain obscured only for a moment as she would lift the camera up to frame the woman as wild and untamed as the sea within the viewfinder - to find a quietly feral eye piercing into her lens and right into her chest. both her heart and her film would take hold of this sliver of time and hang it in a suspense of light. a memento to last far beyond the traces of perfumed sweat, until the next evening the two would share
