My God, the trip back to the enraged Conchfly in #Silksong (just to die immediately, of course) is so tedious

Oh my God, this red fruit parkour in Hunter's March is *KILLING* me. All my Hollow Knight muscle memory keeps telling me to hit straight down instead of on the angle

Two very different countries only two letters apart, doing two VERY different things with mushrooms 😅
Scientists in Vienna have created a leather alternative from mushroom mycelium that’s stronger, more flexible, & more fire-resistant than animal hide. Grown in low-oxygen chambers & treated with non-toxic enzymes, it’s biodegradable, cruelty-free, & without harmful chemicals or environmental damage.

This perfectly encapsulates a visceral frustration I feel any time I see a news article
I've come up with name for something I see all the time in journalism: the shrinking story

You read a headline. It's got a BIG claim.
Then you read the lede (intro) par. It's got qualifications.
By the time you make it to the source of the claim buried in the copy, it's the size of a mouse.

For me it was Oni - played it on the PC, loved it, basically nobody I ever mention it to has heard of it...

It was weird and silly and the levels felt mostly empty space, but you could shoot people while doing ninja flips and so teenage me was enthralled

Shit, that reminds me, I need to catch up on Gunnerkrigg Court and El Goonish Shive
It used to be that one of the best parts of webcomics was seeing a comic that was literally unreadable at the start grow and evolve as the creator got more skilled.

Not to begrudge skilled artists starting webcomics, but I wish it was easier for bad artists to get seen.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

Seen a lot of people praising Cory Booker's marathon filibuster, but can someone explain the purpose of it for those of us outside the US? Was it to block something, or was he making a general statement?

I thought this said "Fix Your Ordie" and assumed it was some kind of Geordie hospitality worker slang when someone ordered something they considered wrong.

I can't believe they got @codyjohnston.bsky.social to present this
I marvel at how Jim Henson’s brain worked. This film was a presentation piece to the executives at CBS when he was trying to get them, ultimately unsuccessfully, to pick up The Muppet Show... But if you’re a TV exec sitting in a boardroom watching this, there’s no way it’s not leaving an impression.
