How can you not vote for #Ilmenite?

"Along enabling Bob Ross's happy little clouds to be non-toxic instead of laced with the lead of prior white pigments, titanium dioxide is a whitening agent used to colour plastics, paper and even food."

#OreCup
#OreCup R1M3: It’s a battle of black and white as titanium ore #Ilmenite is pitted against lithium and boron ore #Jadarite.

Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, usually overlooked and folk head to Prado. Train to Toledo for a day out.
Aha! Already had another joyride overhead earlier on.
I stopped after adding support for grapheme clusters. Are emojis terrible?

Vote for Molybdenite
1. So many Copper ores in the Ore Cup!
2. Molybdenite is SO Beautiful, esp. in polished section.
3. Its the source for the very rare Element Rhenium

#MinCup #OreCup #Geology ⚒️
#OreCup R1M2 is a matchup of extremely shiny and geometrically-distinctive ore minerals for #Molybdenite vs #Tetrahedrite.

Am that old that I remember the 'ageing Los Angeles-class submarines' as new.
Fireworkz' approach to this was to load the Unicode character class data in blocks covering a) the BMP and then b) 256 code points at a time beyond that. Or it would be, if I got round to releasing a Unicode build. I only did this work nearly twenty years ago...

Can’t believe this beauty - and gateway drug to mineral collecting - #galena, is losing to something that isn’t a modern ore mineral #copper

#orecup

Native #copper is a real hazard in crushing circuits because it is malleable and gums things up.
Remember, Galena is not only the principal ore for lead, but also an important ore for silver. Vote Galena.

It’s almost time!
#OreCup starts in just 30 hours, ahhhh!!

Remember to please limit yourself to ONE vote per player per match. Yes, you can have multiple players using the same device. We love when families gather to debate minerals and whole classrooms of students vote and don't want to hinder that.

My spidey sense was right about waiting to order the RISC OS developer tools. They just released a new version yesterday. I placed my upgrade order so I should be getting a USB stick in the mail with the DDE in a week or two. Bug fixes and a new Fortran compiler. www.riscosopen.org/content/sale...

Have sent them some money! But I'll just get a link. Hopefully ;-)
There'd be a bigger 'thunk' if you bumped into Nordrhein-Westfalen though (as bumped into in Bergen this summer)
And it's still in use. I released an update of a commercial bit of software (for RISC OS) using the Norcroft compiler just last week! Looking at you, Fireworkz Pro 2.33.
Hey, at least that appears to be a convergent sequence!
