Happy Birthday Yosemite, one of my favorite places on the planet. I had a hard time choosing one favorite photo, so I chose a thread of timeline cleansing collections of the many many moods of Yosemite.

Let's start with animals.

Wil E. Coyote. He sat with me at Washburn Point for about an hour. Just hanging out.

I promise there's a bobcat blending in with the dry winter grasses in front of Cathedral Arches, Washington Column and North Dome. I didn't even see him until after I took the photo and he got up and trotted away.

I'm sad most of my county voted no, but happy it didn't matter. What does give me hope is that the county results were a closer margin than the presidential election.

I wish he was my History and/or Civics teacher back in the day. Actually I wish he was everyone's History/Civics teacher. We'd have a more knowledgeable electorate.

I actually like Sacramento! The CA State Capitol was unofficially moved to Columbia for a day.

Practically speaking, Sacramento is also a good choice because it's near so much infrastructure, (especially water back in the day) gold fields, etc. It's also not on a major earthquake fault.

That's so pretty. I have a lot of black oaks around me, they mostly turn golden yellow. But there's one branch that's always red. It's my favorite.

30 Rock did a joke about Nixon's chief of staff H. R. Haldeman in an episode from 2007. The joke was that young people wouldn't understand a reference to events from 34 years earlier.

A TV episode airing in 2025 could do the same thing about a political event from 34 years ago, which would be 1991.
