Wassail WIP - Green man jacket 26/01/24. Drawings of common leaves from England & Jamaica on fabric patches.

Here's to thee, old apple tree,
That blooms well, bears well.
Let's have hat fulls, and cap fulls,

With all the horrible news coming out of the UK I would just like to reiterate that the President of Ireland celebrated Trans Day of Remembrance, and the Irish minister for health, the not particularly leftwing Jennifer Carroll McNeill, has spoken against the UK's cruel treatment of trans people.

I’m excited to share my finished Krampus marionette/puppet only one day late for Krampusnacht. He was a little more involved than my last marionette but he was definitely worth it. 🌲

A ton of interesting stuff in my timeline this week that I couldn't repost because it didn't have alt text. Depressing.
I like you, and I want to help you promote your thing, but if you don't put alt text on the promo image, I can't repost it with a clear conscience. Come on. It only takes two ticks.
I guess I think about alt text quite a bit because it's part of my day job. I notice it's become a point of tension on Bluesky and hardly a day goes by now when I don't see someone complaining that they've been told off for not including it, or for doing it wrong. I'd say... 🧵

Crowdfunding idea: I crowdfund the extra deposit I need to buy a house. But the only people who contribute to the crowdfunding are the CEOs of my defunct ex-publishers. The target will be the exact sum of money my defunct ex-publishers still owe me for the seven books I wrote for them.

Spooky advent day 6: Krampus, a traditional figure in Central and Eastern European folklore, is basically a terrifying horned bad santa, accompanying St Nicholas on his visits to children on the night before St Nicholas' Day (6th Dec) and punishing the bad ones by whipping them with birch twigs.

Strange. Cos actual racism seems to have done him nothing but good. Maybe it’s the alleging that’s the problem.

Every musician, artist, writer and designer should be paid for their work and not have it stolen. If you don’t understand this, you have a moral deficiency and are clearly an absolute fuckwit. It really is this simple.

I know it can be a bit cringey to put your children on social media but I've decided to change my banner and include my seven youngest in it. They've had a fucking rough year, and it was touch and go for a while back the start, and I'm proud they've made it through it.
