I travel quite a lot, and there are very few people masking anywhere. A few more in Asia, but nowhere is it anywhere near to "most."

I'm used to taking a long time to taxi to the gate at Schiphol. But today we were doing it in a bus. We got picked up from a bus gate at E that drove a ridiculously long way to a plane parked a ways out from the G/H terminals!

Anyone have any fave Genever drinks I should try? This will be basic Bols, nothing fancy.

Two people and two legs on each side of the journey equals instant street of Dutch houses. Gonna be drinking Genever drinks around here for a while.

It's Day 3 of the wedding so it's time for them to actually get married. Here we are in our wedding finery.

I had a great time! I knew this wasn't going to be a drink focused trip.

That's what I did. It was that or the Glenfiddich, and I hadn't tried Teachers before.

I do recall you saying that the reason you originally started drinking martinis was that it was the most alcohol for your money, and this one certainly offers that!

That caught my eye too! Yowza.

A friend of mine just shared an old restaurant menu with me today, and there was a Knucklehead! From a restaurant in Detroit that operated 1953-1979, but no date on the menu.

I would have too. There's only so far I'm willing to go in search of authenticity.

I'm not understanding why you say it's fully safe.

Another fun reveal ep, with a bottle I’ve been waiting for (and that gamers will appreciate). Two bottles tried to fake me out as I thought they were one thing but turned out to be another. All-in-all an action packed set of picks and some fun research ahead! Watch or read the transcript below! 🍸

We have arrived! Two more little houses, and I ordered the genever-based Very High Fashioned cocktail with my meal. It was quite tasty, and I was especially impressed by how well it drank as it diluted. Now we are in a car to our hotel and Dehli traffic is living up to its reputation even at 3 am.

@libation-legacy.bsky.social dug up some research that says they never took quinine out of Lillet, they just lowered the sugar, and that the modern cocktailian lore about this is not true. Now, that said, I still prefer Cocchi in most contexts!

Have collected the first two little Dutch houses filled with Bols for this trip. Now boarding our AMS-Dehli flight where we'll collect the next two. Indian wedding here we come. And my first time zone that's off by 30 minutes!

Gave into temptation and made a tiny one. Seemed like it would go well with sticky toffee pudding...

Surprisingly good petnat in the KLM Lounge at Pearson. And an "interesting" liquor selection. I'm tempted to make a Rusty Nail...
