Not every game is a product.

Not every idea is a kickstarter.
Not every conversation is content.
Not every collab is a stretch goal.

"jim crow inspired the nuremberg laws" is a corruption of what actually happened, which is that nazi lawyers looked at jim crow laws hoping to mine its justifications and language for the creation of legal race categories, and by and large outright failed

Post like this and I unfollow and mute. This is erasing centuries of European pogroms and other violence prior to WWII by making America the sin-eater for the entire Western world. I won't have it and I won't let it slide:
Cærsten (@cara.city) posted:

"we didn't cause Nazism" dude Hitler based the Nuremberg Laws on the Jim Crow south and Lebensraum was partially inspired by the native genocide of the 19th century idk what to tell you

Will Stancil‬ (@whstancil.bsky.social‬):

we didn’t cause Nazism. whatever caused incumbents to tank in 2024, it wasn’t unique to us. we aren’t uniquely corrupt, or violent, or authoritarian. there are good things and bad things about our country like any other, and Americans work a lot like people anywhere

This two-parter below is exactly why it's hard to make clothes in the United States.

Let's look at how much it costs to produce a button-up shirt in the US. 🧵
Someone on Twitter replies to me: "meh. buy american or stfu."

Two hours later, in a separate thread, the write: "$30 for a single button-up is ridiculous unless it is decent quality silk."

We're tired of LGBTQ+ content being censored.

Tired of people pretending that being queer or trans is a new "fad", and not something that’s existed, perfectly naturally, for as long as people have been around.

Check out our mission, and join us in fighting censorship. 🏳️‍🌈
⬇️
Rainbow stripes with a white text box over it, and an image below of a person holding the intersectional pride flag over their back. The text box reads: "As a team of two trans (Sapling is nonbinary and Felix is two-spirit!) husbands, we’ve felt exhausted online lately, with censorship closing in on us all. Queer content is being banned, restricted, under fire, and we’re sick of it. So we’re creating something offline, a physical art book, a collaborative community project. Something to give us all hope. Something to connect us through our many cultures, all across the world. With our first zine, “We’ve Always Been Here,” we aim to show just this: that we’ve always been a part of history, and we’ll always be a part of the future too." Rainbow stripes with a white text box, and an image below of two Black men getting close, with one kissing the other on the cheek. The text box reads: "'We’ve Always Been Here' focuses on the 'unseen' queer history of the world. There’s plenty of names we all know of real people who have made their mark: Marsha P. Johnson, Alan Turing, Audre Lorde, Oscar Wilde, Frida Kahlo, and many, many more. But what about those that didn’t ‘go down in history’? What about the woman down the street from your great grandmother, who lived with her ‘best friend’ for decades until she passed? What about the medieval king who kept his lover secret his whole life? What about the cowboys who used the wide, open ranges with no one else around to keep their relationships a secret?" Rainbow stripes with a white textbox, and below are three circular images of two Korean women walking together, two African men laughing as they talk, and two Indian women chatting and laughing. The text box reads: "Our zine focuses on this, on the everyday people that no one knew about, that no one wrote about. The people that modern society wants to pretend never existed. LGBTQ+ people just living their lives, throughout all of history and all of the world. We want to show one simple thing to the world with this collaborative zine: We’ve always been here. And we always will be." Rainbow stripes with a white text box, and below is a colorful image from a pride parade, with rainbow flags waving high into the sky. The text box reads: "How to support our mission. Share us on social media! @TaplingZines on BlueSky, Instagram, and Tumblr. Join our email list! Sign up form at taplingzines.carrd.co And tell all your friends!"

There are many other ways in which the kids are not all right. Widespread concerns about reading comprehension are valid and threaten democracy in other ways. But in terms of being broadly accepting of racial and sexual diversity, the game's over, and the libs won. 2/2

This is still by far my favorite Wonders of Mundus image and hats off to @pasteldaemon.bsky.social for her perfect interpretation of what I wanted.

(Wonders of Mundus is of course my cyberpunk isekai transgender coming of age story, check it out at taliaellib.itch.io)
An image titled "Look at what woke VRMMOs have done to our men." To the left, labeled "2039," is an image of a pasty, depressed man with unkempt black hair who looks like an overweight sad wet Markiplier, the "Saddest Man Alive." To the right, labeled 2047, is a foxgirl with tan skin, bright blue eyes and red hair in a Shaolin-like outfit who's smiling, the "Most Beautiful Woman You've Ever Met."

Someone told me it was #foxtober.

I vaguely feel like foxes had another month earlier on? Like maybe this is all…made up? See? I’m clever. Like a fox.

Here’s Ozy and Milo on a fall day.
Ozy and Milo, two Fox boys, one gray and wearing a top hat, scarf and long black coat, the other red and wearing a beanie that covers his ears. And of course they have cocoa. General autumn theme.

seems like a non-insignificant percentage of rage against the machine's fanbase are young republican men driving SUVs bopping their head to anti-oil, pro-immigrant songs thinking the lyrics are about how they wish their suburban parents would get off their back
Tom Morello tweets: "Fascinating that all those “don’t tread on me” posers and their AR-15’s are nowhere to be seen and government tyranny is instead being opposed by a guy in an inflatable frog suit."

Someone named Manny replies: "@grok
why do some people say Tom Morello and band mates are RAGE FOR THE MACHINE and not against ?"
