If you read one Diane Keaton tribute today, make it this one.

"... though many people associate her mostly with the brainy doodle of a performance she gave in Annie Hall—a brilliant one—she was astonishingly versatile. She was great without ever trying to *be* great..."

The Astonishing Versatility of Diane Keaton
Keaton, who died at 79, is often remembered for her comedic performance in Annie Hall, but she did so much more throughout her career.

It is SO good, and I don't think a lot of people have seen it.

Rarely do it, but I walked out of GOOD BOY. Beautiful, expressive dog actor. But a story that exploits a dog’s trusting nature & shows him feeling fearful, anxious, & betrayed by his master? And filmmaking that thinks it’s clever, but isn’t? No thanks.

THE SMASHING MACHINE is an indie Oscar vehicle, not a franchise tentpole, and the idea that Johnson needs to come out and explain why it didn't have a massive opening weekend is a sign that both celebrity culture and entertainment journalism have reached new levels of delusion.

I have two and only two pieces of Georgian jewelry, but sometimes I hold them in my hand and marvel that they’re around 200 years old.

I seem to be the only individual who disliked—maybe hated?—MARTY SUPREME. Time will tell...

Any day you see a Satyajit Ray film is a good day. First time seeing DAYS AND NIGHTS IN THE FOREST, newly restored, at NYFF. A nuanced knockout. See it when/if you can.

Another great photo of Jane Goodall, when she was very young. You can recognize her face. And with cat!

before and after hegseth's directive
Sean Connery is a red strapped outfit. He's very hairy. William Shatner as Captain Kirk. He's in a black strapped outfit and has a smooth chest.

Has a Claire McCardell vibe! I too love the color and the drape of the fabric (and the fact that she took a chance), but I agree it could be trimmer in the shoulders.

Thanks for alerting me to both of these pieces. I adore KUNDUN and consider it one of Scorsese's greatest; saying so has gotten me a lot of blank stares over the past 20-odd years. Glad to know there are others out there.
