Here, be careful not to play Qxf3 and lose to Rxd8. Instead, Rxd1 first, mate follows soon.

If the King doesn't move, then 2. gxf4. Now 2. ... Qxf3+ 3. Kxf3 Rxd1 and Black wins.

Underrated moment teaching non-Euclidean geometry is when the students are just about on board with the idea of ideal triangles and then you show them that an ideal triangle has area π and their whole attitude is "sure, why the hell not"

My parents were Republicans because George H.W Bush signed the Americans with Disabilites Act and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. A generation of people with disabilities went to college, got jobs and lived independently because of IDEA.
