It’s finally here! Publication day! And not, as my phone keeps autocorrecting it, ‘pub location’ day. 😂

‘Chaos Theory’ has been nurtured for 4.5 years, and now it’s finally out in the world, going on its own adventures. You can get it as paperback, e-book and audiobook.

Book cover for Chaos Theory, paperback. Chocolates spelling out “Happy pub day to you!” Beside a book and a cuddly robot. Audiobook on a phone screen. Kindle book ‘Chaos Theory’.

Hope it’s going great for her.

Read this too fast and thought you were sneaking cats onto aeroplanes.

I saw this next to my own book in the UCD campus bookshop yesterday and was wondering what it was!

It *might* have been a Nitelink, in hindsight. Enough said!

Richy, one time I (very very foolishly) was rushing to get off the bus and thought that I could JUMP down the stairwell to get to the exit faster. OF COURSE I walloped my head on the way down. It was so loud that everyone looked around. I’ll never forget it.

Every sign tells a story.

(Some signs I’ve seen just walking around the past two days.)
A skip with words painted on: “Welcome back Dan”. A sign that says “Dogs owed”. A temporary sign on a door that reads: “Door currently closed”.

I want to be able to yell at the toaster without danger of hurting its feelings.

Very happy to be doing this live podcast recording next Friday (17th Oct) with @urchinette.bsky.social and Prof Paige Reynolds at @molimuseum.bsky.social in Dublin!

Will this be a MeetCute? Or a new love triangle? Will we get our Happy Ever After? Or just Happy For Now? 😜

This (well, similar) used to happen to me all the time with the Donal Dineen radio show. Some random really obscure song would be in my head, and then Donal would play it two nights later. It was spooky! We were on the same wavelength, (almost) literally!

😱 But also positive because it will begin a new life! But now you must immediately find a replacement bulky item. Do you have a flatmate or partner, for example? 😜

There is a second verse to this where he binds his head with brown paper and vinegar.

(There’s a chance I may also be misremembering and just thinking about the bags of chips I had for dinner tonight!)

Indeed. Let’s not let him ruffle our feathers.

When my daughter was younger she thought it was a show about a girl sheep called Shauna Sheep.

In my story (and in my imagination), it leads to a resurgence in old school media - print, radio and tv.

Chaos Theory by @sylvialeatham.bsky.social An exciting Irish debut novel that I've heard lots about.

Congratulations Sylvia!

My apologies. Where do your swans go? was not a question I ever thought I would pose.
sylvialeatham.bsky.social
Interesting. A swan was on our local “green” yesterday. I presumed he’d got there by mistake from a nearby canal. Maybe he was on his way somewhere. Where do your swans go?

Literally the theme of my next novel! (Work in progress)
