Hi! I teach, write spec fic and gay romance, am a hapless but sincere gardener, love nature and long rambles therein. I support Ukraine, Palestine, gun control, public education, and LGBTQIA+ causes. I’m Wiccan, vegan, bi and genderqueer, have 4 cats, no kids, and a very patient husband.
FFS, the directions are right on the boxes! If he wanted something different, he should've made it for himself. What a spoiled, entitled man-baby.

"I DON'T NEED YOU TO FUCKING REWRITE WHAT I'VE JUST WRITTEN!"
That's amazing! I know one of my relatives on my dad's side goes *way* back because a distant cousin did some research and sent it our way, but I've never looked into it too much. How exciting to be finding these things out about your roots!
Not for nothing, someone should ask him who starts all these wars.
This is such a simple, lovely way of expressing a simple, lovely truth. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Our new health insurance premium feels more like a shakedown‼️

Thank you, @politicsgirl.bsky.social , for sharing your story. You’re right—there are millions like you.

Our new premium is over $3K/month for a family of three. Could we scrape it together? Maybe. Should we have to? No.

Haha! I came here to post this! Great minds, etc! 😁

last month, we spent 4 hours with Chad’s night crew.

it was worth every minute. here is just 6 of them.

give it a watch—because keeping watch is exactly what these crews do every single day for all
of us after dark.

Coming over with the wheelbarrow.
On 10/26, from the same collection, I read Brian Evenson’s extraordinarily shudder-inducing “Under Care.” Uncanny valley, indeed.
For 10/24, I read M.R. Carey’s “Second Wind,” about a dead man and a live homeless woman and the lies we tell ourselves to keep going. It can be found in Isolation: The Horror Anthology, edited by Dan Coxon (Titan Books, 2022).
Tonight, I read Amanda Russell’s dark and lovely poem “The Orchid Nursery,” from the Darker Masques horror anthology, ed. J.N. Williamson (Pinnacle, 2002).

For 10/22, I read the story from which the collection mentioned below gets its name. Let’s just say that I was relieved when the husband and wife did the right thing. I don’t want to spoil it for you.

For 10/21, I read three tales from Haskins’ The Headless Haunt and Other African-American Ghost stories. Of the three, “The Saturday-Night Fiddler” was the most evocative for me.
I use cracked heel cream on my hands and heels. It’s the only thing I’ve found that keeps my knuckles from splitting in the winter.

this headline hums with ancient autumnal dread
Pharmacist first, and when the asst told me the pharmacist said not to have it, I asked if it was because it would knock me for a loop when combined w/ the others. In hindsight, I think she was relieved that I gave her an out. It was the pharmacist who told me the “real” reason.
I honestly could not tell. She gave me the tetanus and pneumonia shots without batting an eye, but the live virus thing threw her. There was an immunization “cheat sheet” taped next to the monitors the assistants used, and there was a downward arrow next to MMR.
The asst had to check with the
This looks great, and I deserve a little treat after the day I've had! :-)
I didn't want to question the lady about to stick needles in my arms, though, so I waited until I got home and looked it up. My friends, the MMR live virus vaccine will not make me infectious for a week. WTH? Anyway, I messaged my PA to send the script for the MMR shot elsewhere. Geez Louise! (2/2)
Today, I had a pharmacist tell me I shouldn't get the MMR shot while I was there getting other shots because I'd be "shedding live virus" for a week and couldn't be around children, the elderly, the immunocompromised, or anyone who wasn't already vaccinated against measles, mumps, and rubella. (1/2)
