So this is one instance that's public, but I suspect there have been other women taken by ICE because of men who want them gone. This happened to women in Nazi Germany, and this happened/happens to women through institutionalization. Heartbreaking & infuriating.
“After Ferreira was detained, Dos Santos Rodrigues said Michael Leavitt Sr. and his father, Bob Leavitt, reached out to her.”

“‘They just kept saying, ‘Tell her to self-deport,’” she recalled. “Self-deport to where? Brazil is not her home.’” www.bostonglobe.com/2025/11/26/m...
‘Brazil is not her home.’ Mother of Karoline Leavitt’s nephew, brought to US as child, detained by ICE. - The Boston Globe
Bruna Ferreira, 33, was brought to the United States as a child in 1998. She is now in removal proceedings in Louisiana.

I've been watching SNL season 14 for my reviews, and a lot of my copies of the original broadcasts come from WLBZ Bangor, which used to be the affiliate carried on cable in the Maritimes.

After the hard work and advocacy of the community, the Minister of Municipal Affairs has decided not to overturn the bylaw restricting infilling in Dartmouth Cove. We will look at their amendments closely, but at least for now, Dartmouth Cove won't be turned into a dump.

"...the mother in this case said timestamps on her daughter’s Chromebook showed she was accessing the problematic websites during school hours."

Tbh, the most adults -whether administrators, educators, or parents- don't know enough about tech security to truly help students avoid these dangers.

This company designs its products to sycophantic. It knows it is doing this. It knows why it is doing this. The design principles involved are well-known in HCI. OpenAI, quite literally, is a monstrosity.
“OpenAI’s court filing argued that the harms in this case were at least partly caused by Raine’s ‘failure to heed warnings, obtain help, or otherwise exercise reasonable care,’ as well as the ‘failure of others to respond to his obvious signs of distress.’”
OpenAI denies allegations that ChatGPT is to blame for a teenager's suicide
Adam Raine's family sued the AI company in August. On Tuesday, OpenAI said in a new court filing that it isn't responsible for the teen's death.

Let this short thread radicalize you.
Normand Meunier is a Canadian man with quadriplegia who accessed MAiD (Medical Assistance in Dying) after being left for 96 hours on a stretcher in the ER.

His requests for a specialized mattress were denied.

He wasn't turned regularly.

He developed bed sores so bad, he opted to end his life.

This is concerning, and, as mentioned in the thread, HRCE isn't providing adequate information or resources.
SJAM school does not have drinkable water. The hrce provided four 18 L jugs to do over 400 students the last day or two. The staff do not know when they're getting more. They are of course distressed/concerned.

Ethnic frauds stir up so many terrible feelings in Indigenous folks, and I don't think the general public really understands this.

The goal of the ongoing colonial project has been the erasure of Indigenous Peoples, meaning our identity and existence has been undermined from every direction.

This is terrifying.
Reasons Trump wants war w/ Venezuela:

• To steal oil – pure financial greed
• To steal land
• To kill/to feed his sadism
• To emulate Putin's totalitarianism and his invasion of Ukraine
• To distract from and prevent full release of the Epstein files
• In an attempt to justify martial law in the US
