What are posts like this supposed to accomplish? Do people think that oppressed people are hopeless and in despair because someone told them it was cringe to be hopeful?

In 2024 I enrolled in university and since then I had to drop out because of the same reasons I can’t hold a job but it was stunning how illiterate my classmates were. I know I’m a better reader and writer than even my cohort but it was worse than 2000s high school.
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.
