Please join me in sending one message to the Dems:

DO. NOOTTTTTTT. FUCKING. CAVE!!!!

Don’t you fucking do it!!

If they want government open, THEY have to bend and come to us, and not with some bullshit deal that lasts just until they get reelected.

We have already suffered. DO NOT make it
I know, deep down, that part of why they did this is because they saw the Halo thing got a rise out of people. They love “owning” the libs after all.

But still, fuck this.

Tolkien is not perfect but he did, in fact, hate the fucking Nazis.
DHS just posted a Lord of the Rings meme as an appeal to join ICE

My favorite X-Person! Great work!
I fleshed out some thoughts into an opinion piece of sorts. I don't know if I express anything revolutionary, but writing like this is therapeutic for me.

The man is a 34 times convicted felon and they want to find an excuse to give him $230 million of tax dollars because it hurt his feelings to have people dig into what a scumbag he is.

This truly is the dumbest timeline.

Two weeks ago, I cleared out the junk from this backpack with the intention to use it. I set it down in a chair, and the #cat got to it first. Every time I consider just taking it back, she looks at me like this. 😩
Said my take was “dumb.” Hard hitting stuff. 😂
Agree to disagree. Star Wars has had lots of humor in its films, dating back to the OT, but it was also comfortable letting the audience sit with emotion.

That moment stood out to me, in particular, as a prime example of the script defusing an emotional moment with an unnecessary joke.
Here’s the thing. I was happy to hear about the cease fire. I wasn’t going to pat Trump on the back for a potential peace he could have (and should have) brokered months ago (or Biden for that matter), but an end to violence is good!

So sad that it appears to be falling apart again. 😞
Best example I can think of is The Last Jedi, when R2D2 plays Leia’s “help me Obi-Wan Kenobi…” message from the original film to try and persuade Luke to help
Rey. The film could have just left us to infer what that means/does for Luke, but instead gives him a cheesy “That was a cheap move…” line. 🙄
If there’s one thing I loathe about modern filmmaking… it’s the tendency to always inject snark and quips into everything. They have their place, but it feel like a lot movies just put them everywhere, and often to the detriment of the story.
Dragonheart was perhaps not as universally loved, but there are lots of people (myself included) who adore it and the very sincere story it was trying to tell. I don’t think either movie would be even remotely the same if made today.

There are several movies I can think of that fit this sort of bill, as well, many of which are very fondly remembered even when they underperformed. The Mummy was a hit, but it has remained a treasured film and was also a super straightforward adventure.

An ICE agent, who is being arrested for drunk driving and nearly killing his little kids & others, tries to stop the arrest by racially profiling the officers arresting him. Amazing to watch the courtesy given to him as he is belligerent and uncooperative
There just wasn’t anything like wandering back and forth through the bushes, having the screen flash, and FINALLY encountering that Pokemon you really wanted. The modern games don’t have that same feeling.
I just miss random encounters. I know the general consensus is that seeing potential fights is always better in a JRPG, but I always felt there was something special about not knowing, especially in Pokemon.
The thing is... I'm pushing 40 and my life is already really busy. Between my job, my family, and the hobbies/projects I'm already invested, I just don't where to pull my time and effort from. The idea of adding one more thing, even something I want to do, into the mix just sounds exhausting.
Every time I try though, the gulf between my existing skills and where I want them to be just feels insurmountably huge. And I don't mean that in the sense that I don't think, with practice, that I could learn to draw. I know that with time and effort I could improve!
The older I get though, the more I come to the sad realization that there are creative skills I'll never be proficient in.

I used to draw a lot up until about my teens, for instance, and I love the idea of picking it up again and learning to do it better. I really wish I could draw.
Yeah… this headline made me literally say “oh fuck you” out loud when I saw it earlier. 🙄
