Yes, exactly: on the left we have an actual leftist, and on the right there we have the tankies who keep showing up & expecting us to pretend they aren’t fascists
If Seth Moulton becomes a Senator I’m going to take it as a sign that God is a big Joe Kennedy fan and wants to punish me, personally, for my last vote for this seat.
“I sent you a perfectly fine candidate, but noooooo…“
We didn’t take all their shit when they lost, and it’s a real problem. Lincoln’s assassination is up there with Rabin’s in “most effective political assassination”
One-fifth of our political elites are directly descended from slaveowners, and they are disproportionally richer than the rest.
I understand that the current geriatricy has brought us fascism & fucked over two full generations of workers to keep capitalist home owner’s wealth going up, but sure, the problem is definitely insufficient discrimination against the poorest demographic in America 🙄
@moulton.house.gov is apparently promoting discriminating against young people *and* old people on his policy page. I guess he is catering only to 55 to 65 year olds?
In the meantime Russia is spending 100x that to undermine democracy in those regions & empower jihadists, but go off letting kids starve while democracy fails I guess.
It is weird that you are on the side of Russian fascists, though.
Once they have power, they don’t need to impeach: they need to remove executive prosecution from the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court and then slam Trump in jail before extraditing to the Hague.
I guess maybe they had rich parents who didn’t attach a ton of strings to their support?
But without generational wealth that isn’t used to maintain control, being a young person in this country sucks. Anyone pretending otherwise is just justifying their own bad behavior.
I’m ten years from retirement. People find it so unthinkable that someone my age wouldn’t demand power-over people younger than me that they assume I must still be in my twenties.
It is bizarre to me that people my age don’t remember how much it sucked to be poor, disempowered & disenfranchized.
Are people who did bad things. Believing instead that they were bad people just makes it more likely fascism will rise again.
Black-and-white thinking is ineffective at preventing fascism because no one thinks they are a bad person. If bad people do bad things, anything they do must be good.
How would they? Almost none of us have real information to base our decisions on.
The people who claim to be judging on “substance” are still mostly judging on the basis of style, it is just a wildly unpopular style that looks like what centerist pundits think “substance” should look like.
This is exactly backwards. It indicates deep ignorance of both practical politics & modern political science.
85% of voters do not vote on policy. The establishment technocrats & pundits who pretend policy is more important than personality made the Democratic Party a prop in the rise of fascism.
