u can't appreciate the power of this scene by watching this clip on its own. see how raggedy the train looks? in the prior scene, it had barely escaped a vicious attack by counter-revolutionaries - a scene packed w high danger & military urgency - and the dynamic tablesetter 4 this lovers' reunion.

this is a 3.5-min clip from 'reds' . . . . one of the best movie love scenes ever!

this is mussolini-style 'leadership:' maximize your executive power to 'plenary' levels

trump, consciously or not, is following mussolini's every instinct when to comes to leadership and power.

Trump threatens the Insurrection Act because a judge blocked his illegal troop deployment. When courts enforce the law, he calls it "insurrection." This is textbook authoritarianism redefining constitutional checks as rebellion while actual law-breaking becomes patriotism. The inversion is complete

It seems clear—I think to everyone, now—that a false and illegal invocation of the Insurrection Act is coming before the end of the year. Media outlets should be telling us how they will prepare for this potential Treason. State governments should be telling us. Activists should be developing plans.
