"Remember, I made all this up."
To be fair, how could someone who works for the New York Times possibly know that?
"There's a monster eating the chandelier!"
If you need a little break, I highly recommend searching images of “cats in dollhouses”
A cat peers in the window of a dollhouse kitchen. The cats head takes up the whole window A car peers around an interior wall in a dollhouse - making the cat appear as tall as the ceiling A cat is in the stairwell of a dollhouse and trying to chomp on the light fixture
“You can tell by the kindness of a dog the way humans should be.” - Captain Beefheart
Half way though my walk with #Maggie today, I found a decent size stick and broke it off into a good size for her. One would think I gave her a leg of lamb. She carried it all the way home and then played with it until I had to put her back inside. She was so proud of it. #dogs
FWIW, you can also get inflatable frog costumes delivered to your door without involving Amazon in any way.

Sorry, "Gravy Concepts" is a euphemism for what exactly?

When you’re that rich no one ever tells you to shut the fuck up so you think everything you have to say is interesting
"Just ask Siri, 'What team has the most World Series titles?'"

Or ask anyone who's ever paid the slightest bit of attention to baseball. It's the Yankees. By a lot.

If you're watching the situation in Chicago from afar & want to help, on the off chance you have spare $$, you can give to the Midwest Immigrant Bond Fund, which posts "bond for individuals held in the custody of ICE w ties to IL, IN, KY & WI who cannot afford to pay"

It’s like they knew what the outcome would be but just wanted everyone to stress out for six innings.
I assumed that was their version of the Masonic handshake.
It’s mind-boggling to think that John Lennon would have turned 85 today. Here he is with some of his mates a mere 60 years ago. Happy birthday, John. Thanks.

Thanks to @jfallows.bsky.social for reading the New York Times so the rest of us don't have to.
Shocked, just shocked, by this important scoop on front page of today's NYT. /s/

Based on report that came out ... nine months ago

And behavior long predating that

("Skip a class? Perish the thought!!" Says anyone who ever worked on a college newspaper, which covers a lot of people in the media.)
NYT front page headline: "Harvard Finds Skipping Class Part of Culture."

Despite strong objections from Governor Pritzker, Mayor Johnson, and the people of Chicago, the Trump regime is preparing to deploy National Guard troops in Chicago today.

If you are in Chicago and need guidance on how to interact with the Guard, here’s a helpful guide:

We wanted to understand Democratic Socialists of America. So we talked to two old guys who voted for Trump. (Yes, this is literally the article.)
This just in: The guy in charge of Paramount and CBS is completely full of shit.
David Ellison’s note to staff on Paramount’s acquisition of the Free Press
The opportunity to debate Bari Weiss on a podcast reminds me of a quote from Orson Welles:

"Never touch shit, even with gloves on. The gloves get shittier, but the shit doesn't get any glovvier."
perhaps the biggest story TFPever ran was a catastrophically shoddy argument that George Floyd ackshully died of an overdose. When confronted with irrefutable evidence that the piece was simply wrong, Weiss didn’t take it down, she asked her critic, @radleybalko.bsky.social, to come on a podcast.
