Rainforest Conservation, Cacao Agroforestry, Biodiversity, Nature is not your Carbon Sink. Projects in Amazon and Indonesia

IG: @conservationcacao
Pinned
Cacao comes originally from the Amazon Basin. It grows under shade trees. Out on agricultural frontiers in the Tropics, where rainforest is being lost, cacao in agroforestry can be a barrier to deforestation. The alternatives, cattle, Oil Palm, mean farmers cutting down all their trees.

To replace income taxes with tariffs, you’d have to raise tariff rates to levels that would effectively eliminate international trade, and thus the tariff revenue would plummet to near zero.

Floods in Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia in the last month, all fuelled by climate change. The costs, human and financial, are only going to increase every year around the world. Every country needs to stop burning coal, stop burning fossil fuels, as quickly as we possibly can.

I feel much safer today knowing that we deported a Babson College student back to a country where she hasn't lived since childhood.

She wasn't even flying internationally. She was flying to Texas.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.
